Dear Lakeshore Management Person,
We need your help. Our hill seems he growing higher
every year. 1' am writing to request your permission to do
some landscaping ne;<t spring. Our property is very high,
perhaps the highest inhabited lots on lake Crystal. At this
time we carry alI equipment , fishing gear, s.c.u.b.a.
gear, everything, up and down a 145 foot hillside. We are
fortunate to have a plateau at the bottom of our hill . This
plateau could be used for a small storage building,
sunbathing, watching young swimmers etc., if it were level.
I have taken several photographs and written
explainations to go with them. It would be best if you would
view the pictures in the following order; 1A,2A, then
1,2,3,4,5, the rest at random. I have also included a sketch
to aid in e;<p1aining this project .
1 would like your permission to remove 2 feet 6 inches
of material from the upper part of the plateau and place it
over the lower half of the plateau. The total change would
amount to 5 feet. As a 1andscaper for the past 15 or more
years during the summer vacation months, I can appreciate
your concern as to what this would do to the adjoining
property. I can assure you that I will not be creating an
eyesore or hazard for lot 43.My wife and I own lot # 41 to
the south of this project . My thought was to blend the new
elevation into the neighbors property in such a way as to
avoid any possible erosion. Sharp slopes would be sodded. As
it means carrying materials down the hillside I would like
to seed the flatened area with a fast germinating nurse crop
and cover it with straw until a good cover is established.I
have a pump by the lake and I plan on having my retired
neighbor see that the new seed bed is kept damp during dry
weather. If this is not acceptable, I am open to
suggest ions.
I like to be able to meet with you and discuss this
project in person. Unfortunately as a high school art
instructor I am rather tied down during the week. If anyone
could be available during the weekend I would be more than
happy to drive up from Benson and meet with them. I am
hopeful that the enclosed information will be useful in your
considerations.
We look forward to your reply,
