We wish to add an 8'x 24'
The tie-in
Our existing building is set 4' from south property line,
addition to west side of bldg and a 24' x 24' garage attached to addition,
of existing roof to new addn will be closer than the 75' rule and the new addition and
garage will be built 8 from south property line with the overhang being 7' from line.
In order to have a sidewalk and proper width driveway, we respectfully request permission
to build on or use 28% of property instead of 25%.
I UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE APPLIED FOR A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SHORELAND
MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE/SUBDIVISION CONTROLS ORDINANCE OF OTTER TAIL COUNTY.
I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT OTHER PERMITS MAY BE REQUIRED, IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT LAND &
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT REGARDING THIS MATTER.

After consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Michael Harris and unanimously carried, to approve the proposed
development as described in the application dated July 11, 2008 and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance
application with the condition that no more than 25% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. It was
noted that the proposed addition will be farther from the lot line than the existing cabin. Practical difficulty/hardship is a
substandard lot of record and the terrain of the applicants’ property.
