Pa-^ L ■' ■ -’ to'lo > I ,lf I I I f Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment 121 West Junius Ave. Fergus falls, MN 56573 218-998-8030/998-8041 Re: Variance Request Hearing scheduled for Thursday, September 13, 2003 @ 6:30 PM Property Address: 41737 Kansas Point Ln. - - Lake Lida Thomas and Elizabeth Woythal Pelican Rapids, MN 56572 Variance Considerations (addendum to variance request) Pat Passon, the current next door property owner on the side that is requesting a 5.5 foot variance from her property line was shown a copy of the variance request and said she does not object to the variance as requested and stated is was fine with her. She owns the property individually. The garage is located on the lowest elevation on Kansas Point. The slab is lower than the road. The slab has broken up and seems to move in various different directions each year. A new garage door was installed three years ago. It now has a crushed bow in it on the bottom due to slab pushing up in middle. Wood is rotting around the bottom due to “wicking”. I dug a 6” wide, 12” deep trench around the outside to try to provide drainage and diminish the wicking. The garage, according to long time residents has been in existence, in its current location, since the 50’s. The structure planned to replace will be a windowed, flower boxed, attractive garage that will add to the ambiance of the area. My amateur measurement indicates the slab is less than 3’ above the ordinary water line of Lake Lida. Thank you for your attention and consideration.
