Motion
Motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
4’ 8” from the required side lot line setback of 10’ fcr the construction of an addition to an existing structure 5’ 4” from
the side lot line and at least 10’ from the septic tank with the condition that a small shed, not shown on the applicant’s
drawing, must be placed in a location that meets the setback requirements of the ordinance. It should be noted that
the Board of Adjustment favored granting a greater variance against the side lot line then to place additional dwelling
space within 10’ of a septic tank.

Sayles and Marian Brodersen (Clarification)-
For purposes of clarification the Board was asked if they intended the proposed addition to be 10’ from
the septic tank when they approve a side lot line variance on October 2, 1997 for Sayles and Marian
Brodersen. The Board reviewed the information contained within the file and determined that it was
clearly stated that the addition to the existing structure must be at least 10’ from the septic tank.
Jeff and Melody Bober (Reconsideration) -
Jeff and Melody Bober requested, by letter, reconsideration of their variance request which was denied
at the March 26, 1998 Board of Adjustment meeting. The Board reviewed their application and
determined that the information being presented had not change significantly to warrant reconsideration
of the previous hearing or the Board's decision. The Board also stated that they would not consider
any lessor setback from the top of the bluff then the required 30’.
With no further business Chairman Walter declared the meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m.

I've been hired by. Sayles Broderson to build an addition on his
trailer. It seems he has misunderstood the decision on the variance» or the wording on the approval letter^(which he never received) is
worded wrong.
His application asked for 8'x 12 addition, 7’ from side yard, 6' from septic. I think you approved addition but asked it to be slid closer to property line making side yard set back 5' This putsthe 8 X 12 addition 7’ from septic v/s the asked for 6'. However,
approval letter said to stay 10' away.,. This is not possible with
the approved 8 x 12. Gould you please; verify what he can do so I
can aquire the permit? Lake shore found approval letter quite confusing and declined permit.
My client has stated that anything less than an 8 x 12... room would
be useless and to his recollection this variance was approved. He
would also like to add a 4' walkway to gain access to this room. By
sliding ,over it misses, the hallway in trailer. This 4' hallway would
be 10' from septic.
