The property is described as Lot 5, Second Addition to Outlet Beach, Lake Lida in Lida Township. The audience was polled with a representative of Freda Dahl speaking to the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, second by Mark Steuart and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance as requested. It was also noted that a reasonable use of the property can be obtained without the granting of a variance and that other sites for expansion which would not require the granting of a variance exist and should be considered. Vincent D. Demmer - Approved Vincent D. Demmer, Dalton, MN, requested the following; the property classification has been changed from standard buildable back lot to a substandard non-buildable lot. The property owner would like the classification changed back to a standard buildable lot (residential lot). It was changed due to an ordinance revision in 1992. The property is described as Lot 5, Block 1, Hill and Yale Acres, South Ten Mile Lake in Tumuli Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Steve Schierer, second by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested as the granting of the requested variance will provide the applicant with reasonable use of this property and will allow the applicant the ability to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in the immediate area. Gary and Lola Keller - Denied. Gary and Lola Keller, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested the following: we now own a resort (Lakeview on Lida Resort) which is a commercial cluster development. What we would like to do is split up the property in to two residential lots. To change this from a cluster development, we will need a variance to be able to split into two substandard lots and a variance to build an addition onto existing cabins 4 and 5 T from the lot line and 60’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 1, Block 1, Lot 1, Block 8 and the west 50’ of Government Lot 3, Section 14 of Lida Township by Lake Lida. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by David Holmgren, second by Joe Maske and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as the granting of variance would create two substandard lots and it was also noted that no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting of the variance. Roger and Virginia Lange - Denied Roger and Virginia Lange, Dalton, MN, requested a variance of 1.5’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the placement of a 14’ lower deck on an existing home 38.5’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as Lot 21, Camp Tynset, South Ten Mile Lake in Tumuli Township. The audience was polled with Joseph Kelly speaking in support of the variance as requested. Mr. Kelly expressed concerns for individual safety due to the steep grade of the property. After discussion and consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, second by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested noting that the development is within the shore impact zone and noting the existence of other possible sites for ingress and egress to the dwelling.
