The following variance requests were heard: Lonnie Scott Thomas - Approved with condition. (6:33 p.m.) Lonnie Scott Thomas, Fargo, ND, requested a variance of approximately 2’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of a sewage system 8’ from the side lot line. The property is described as Lot 36, Block 1, Trowbridge Point, Leek/Trowbridge Lake in Candor Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 2’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of a holding tank 8’ from the side lot line with the condition that the applicant must obtain a letter of approval from the owner of Lot 35, Block 1, Trowbridge Point. It was noted that this is perhaps the best place if not the only place for the location of the applicant’s holding tank. Kelly Trust - Approved with condition the Well House/Storage Buiidjng Variances. Denied Variance for Steps. (6:37 p.m.) Kelly Trust, Fargo, ND, requested a variance to rebuild a 6’ by 8’ pump shed 5’ from the side lot line and within the road right-of-way and a variance for the construction of new wood steps having a width of 6’. The maximum width for steps is 4’. It should be noted that both projects haye already been completed. The property is described as Lot 9, Anderson Beach Addition, Pelican Lake in Scambler Township. Dan Mickelson represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve the variances necessary for the placement of the 6’ by 8’ well house/storage building in the location, as depicted on the applicant drawing, with the condition that the applicant must also receive a letter of approval from the township and to deny the variance as requested for the 6’ wide steps. It should be noted that the steps must be brought into compliance with the requirements of the ordinance on or before July 31, 2002. It was also noted that the well house/storage building location is being approved because it is perhaps the best location, is the same location where a smaller structure used to be and it does not restrict vievy from the adjacent properties.
