Daniel R and Theresa M Anderson - Approved the variance requested as modified. (6:42 p.m.)
After consideration and discussion, Randall Mann made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried,
to approve a variance of 5’ from the required top of bluff setback of 30’, a variance of 30’ from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 4’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the
placement of a dwelling 25’ from the top of the bluff, 70’ from the ordinary high water level, 16’ from the road right-of-
way, 10’ from the septic (holding) tank and at least 10’ from the side lot lines. The overall size of the proposed
dwelling will be determined by what can be placed within the setbacks stated above. The Board noted that the
variances as approved will provided the applicants with a reasonable use of their property and will provide the
applicants with an ability to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate area. Hardship is a
substandard lot of repord.

Daniel R and Theresa M Anderson - Approved the variance requested as modified. (6:42 p.m.)
Daniel R and Theresa M Anderson, Lot 21 Block 1 Trowbridge Point, Trowbridge Lake in Candor
Township, requested a variance of 15’ from the required top of bluff setback of 30’ and a variance of 40’
from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 28’ by 30’ structure 15’
from the top of the bluff and 60’ from the ordinary high water level. Daniel Anderson and Joyce Wagner
appeared at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance
as requested. A letter from the Candor Town Board of Supervisors approving the location of the septic
system was read for the record. After consideration and discussion, Randall Mann made a motion, second
by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5’ from the required top of bluff
setback of 30’, a variance of 30’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance
of 4’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the placement of a dwelling 25’ from the top of
the bluff, 70’ from the ordinary high water level, 16’ from the road right-of-way, 10’ from the septic (holding)
tank and at least 10’ from the side lot lines. The overall size of the proposed dwelling will be determined by
what can be placed within the setbacks stated above. The Board noted that the variances as approved will
provided the applicants with a reasonable use of their property and will provide the applicants with an
ability to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate area. Hardship is a substandard
lot of record.
Dale A and Jeanne C Janssen - Tabled (7:02 p.m.)
Dale A and Jeanne C Janssen, Lot 11 Block 2 Engstrom's Beach and Lot 1 Block 2 Engstrom’s Beach First
Addition, Big McDonald Lake in Edna Township, requested a variance of 75’ from the required ordinary
high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 14’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20' for
the location of a structure 25’ from the ordinary high water level and 6’ from the road right-of-way. The
audience was polled with Wally Diekman speaking for the variance as requested. After consideration and
discussion, Randall Mann made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to table,
with the verbal agreement of the applicants, this variance hearing to allow the applicants an opportunity to
consider other alternatives that perhaps would require less variance from the required setbacks.
Scott and Dianne Johnston - Approved the variance as requested. (7:20 p.m.)
Scott and Dianne Johnston, Lot 4 Block 4 of the Amended Plat Subdivision of Reserve Lot A, B, C, and D
Hagstrom Beach and Lot 34 Haggstrom’s Beach Third Addition, Pickeral Lake in Maine Township,
requested a variance of 3’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 4T from the
required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of gable roof on an existing 12’ by 30’
structure located 7’ from the lot line and 59’ from the ordinary high water level. The audience was polled
with Bernie Maczkowicz requesting an opportunity to review the applicants’ drawing. After consideration
and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Michael Conlon and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 3’ from the required side lot line setback of 10' and a variance of 4T from the
required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a gable roof on a 12’ by 30’ existing
structure located 7’ from the lot line and 59’ from the ordinary high water level. The Board noted that the
proposed development is maintenance to an existing structure and that the proposed development will not
change the foot print of the existing structure. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.
Gary D Holthusen - Approved the variance as requested with conditions. (7:22 p.m.)
Gary D. Holthusen, Lots 1, 2 and 3, LeMar, Lake Lida in Lida Township, requested the following; Pursuant
to the original plat. Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 1 of LeMar were required to be permanently attached to part of
Lot 20 of Maplehurst. The undersigned owner would like to sell Lot 1, Block 1, LeMar to Charles Cheney,
who is the owner of Lots 16, 17 , and 18, of the Plat of Maplehurst: Lot 2, Block 1, and the Easterly 40' of
Lot 3, Block 1, of LeMar to Jay Kleingartner, who is the owner of Lot 19 of Maplehurst: and the Westerly 11 ’
of Lot 3, Block 1 of LeMar to Duane Brandt who is the owner of Lot 4, Block 1 of LeMar and Lot 21 of the
Plat of Maplehurst. We would like to ask for a variance to the plat so that the three lots within LeMar are
attached to the above described properties of Maplehurst instead of part of Lot 20 of Maplehurst as
pursuant to the original plat.
