Martin Leonard Eitreim - Withdrawn
Martin Leonard Eitreim, Jasper, MN, requested a variance to split off 10' from the south side of
Lot 11 and transfer to the owner of Lot 12, The width of Lot 12 will be approximately 1 1 O' and
the width of Lot 11 will be approximately 90', The property is described as Lot 11, Riverview
Beach, Otter Tail River in Rush Lake Township. The audience was polled with Mr. Eugene
Reinholt speaking in favor of the applicant's request. A letter from Mr. Reinholt has been placed
on file stating his position. After much discussion and consideration, the applicant decided to
withdraw his variance request and will consider an alternative that would not create a
substandard lot.
Albert Skar - Request Denied, Action of November 7th, 1991 Stands.
Albert Skar, Vergas, MN, requested a variance of 9' from the required road right-of-way
setback of 20' for an existing 17' by 20' carport located 11' from the road right-of-way and a
variance to leave the walls on this carport. In November of 1991 the Board of Adjustment
approved the construction of a 14' by 24' carport, without side walls, 18' from the road right-
of-way. The property is described as Lot 5 and the N1 /2 of Lot 6, Block 1, Trowbridge Point,
Leek Lake in Candor Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After much discussion and consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded
by John Everts and unanimously carried, to take no action on this variance request as the Board
of Adjustment had previously heard and acted on a similarl request of Mr. Skar and that the
board stood by the action that they had taken and granted at the November 7th, 1991, meeting.
Gary L. Smith - Approved
Gary L. Smith, Barnesville, MN, requested a variance from the subdivision controls ordinance
for subdividing a parcel of less than 2.5 acres (southwest 100') from an existing 4,42 acre
parcel. Each parcel will have sufficient area and width to meet the minimum requirement for
platted lots on a general development lake. The property is described as part of government lot
5, Section 27 of Lida Township on Lake Lida, Mr. Robert Berg, the potential purchaser of this
property, represented the applicant at this hearing. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson,
seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the variance from the
subdivision controls ordinance for subdividing a parcel of less than 2.5 acres from an existing
4,42 acre parcel, with the condition that a registered surveyor's drawing and a letter stating
that there are no property line disputes will be provided at the time of recording the
subdivision. These parcels meet the minimum shoreland requirements for platted lots and there
will be no residual property remaining after the subdivision. The parcel has access to a public
road.

oDate
Dec. 31, 1992•To whom it may concern:
In the sTommer of 1991, Mr. Albert Skar requested the town board
of Candor Township., Ottertail County to approve the proposed site for
a car port . The site was at his residence on Leek Lake. The board
did meet with him and found the site to be in full compliance with any
and all township regulations. The new structure would not encroach on
the Township Cartway easement. At this location the road is a 2 rod
cartway. (33') The carport as it is built is approximately 11' to 12'
off of the township easement.
We viewed the site now and found the structure to be at the site
agreed to by the town board. We feel there is no compromise of safety
for Mr Skar or the users of this cartway because of this structure.
