MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 100' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for
the replacement of a 12' by 12' furnace room with an 18' by 24' garage 100' from the
ordinary high water level with the provision that no variance request be brought in the
future for a water oriented accessory structure as previously stated in action taken by the
Board of Adjustment on July 9th, 1992.

Frank J. Vana - Approved
Frank J. Vana, Vergas, MN, requested a variance of 100’ from the required ordinary high
vater level setback of 200' for the replacement of a 12' by 12' furnace room with an 18'
by 24' garage 100’ from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as part
of Government Lot 5, Section 14 of Candor Township on Medicine Lodge Lake. The audience
was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion
was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 100' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200' for the
replacement of a 12' by 12' furnace room with an 18' by 24' garage 100' from the ordinary
high water level with the provision that no variance request be brought in the future for
a water oriented accessory structure as previously stated in action taken by the Board of
Adjustment on July 9th, 1992. It was noted that this is the best location on the
applicant's property for this structure and its placement in this location should not
cause any erosion problems.
Mervin Hanson - Approved
Mervin Hanson, New York Mills, MN, requested a variance of 5' from the required side lot
line setback of 10' for a 12' by 12' addition to an existing structure 5' from the side
lot line. The property is described as Lot 27, Oak Point Park, Rush Lake in Otto
Township. The audience was polled with Robert Penney speaking in favor of the applicant's
request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts
and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5' from the required side lot line
setback of 10' for a 12' by 12' addition to an existing structure 5' from the side lot
line.It was noted that the addition will be no closer to the lot line than the existing
building.
Ray Vaughan - Approved
Ray Vaughan, Henning, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 2.5
acres (approximately .93 acre) from an existing 40 acre tract and a variance of 3' from
the required road right-of-way setback of 40' for the construction of a new dwelling 37'
from the road right-of-way. The property is described as part of the NEl/4 of the SV/1/4,
Section 3 of Elmo Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against
the request. A letter from Bill Stone in favor of the applicant's request was read for
the record. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil
Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than
2.5 acres (approximately .93 acres) from an existing 40 acre tract and a variance of 3'
from the required road right-of-way setback of 40' for the construction of a new dwelling
37’ from the road right-of-way. It was noted that there are no public safety concerns
with the placement of the proposed dwelling at this location.
