Arnold W. Norberg, Battle Lake, MN, requested permission to construct a 20' x 22'
garage 5' from center of township road on Lot 7, Olson's Northshore, Eagle Lake
Township. After discussipn and listening to interested parties, motion was made
by John Everts to approve a 20' x 24' garage, 17' from road right-of-way, 23' variance,
subject to township approval and placement of garage so doors are perpendicular to
road, hardship being Mr. Norberg's health and a narrow lot with no other place for
structure. The motion was seconded by Craig Anderson and carried with Tom Stringer
voting "no".
Eugene & Hildegard Lausten, New York Mills, MN, requested permission to convey a
233' X 500' parcel in the S^NW^s of Section 20, Newton Township, without a surveyor's
drawing. After discussion, motion was made by Tom Stringer, seconded by Frank Lacho-J
witzer and carried, to approve, because of the fact the property lies in the corner
of a quarter section with two established lines, with the remaining two lines being
parallel to said established lines.
Roger L. Rapatt, Perham, MN, requested permission to record a parcel of 2^ + acres
without a surveyor's drawing and also to construct a dwelling 28' x 42', IIQ'
from ordinary high water mark, 90' variance, on Lot 1 and Lot 2, Section 18, Butler
Township. AFter discussion, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Frank
Lachowitzer and carried, to approve transfer without a surveyor’s drawing, because
of the fact one line is an established government survey line and other lines run
parallel and perpendicular to said line. After additional discussion, motion was
made by Craig Anderson to grant a 60' variance from the natural environment require
ment of 200 feet from lakeshore, hardship being only a 10' building spot with a
very low spot farther back from lake, best use of land. The motion was seconded by
Frank Lachowitzer and carried.
Richard B. Haas, Perham, MN, requested permission to construct attached garage 5'
from property line, on E4 of S.L. G of G.L. 2, Section 2, Perham Township. After
consideration, motion was made by Frank Lachowitzer, seconded by John Everts and car
ried, to approve, only spot on lot to place garage, enjoy same rights and privileges
as neighbors, not setting a precedent.
