After discussion and consideration, Randall Mann made a motion, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 6’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the placement of a 10’ by 12’
structure 14’ from the road right-of-way. The Board noted that the variance as approved is consistent with past
actions of the Board of Adjustment. Hardship is a substandard lot of record.

Three Lakes Resort, do Ed and Kathy Thompson, Lots 53, 54 55 and part of Lot 56, Deer Lake Beach,
Deer Lake in Everts Township, requested a variance of 25’ from the required side lot line setback of 50' for
a 20’ by 39’ 5” addition to Cabin No. 7 which will be 25’ from the side lot line, a variance of 10’ from the
required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a 14’ by 2T two story addition to Cabin No. 5 which
wili be 90’ from the ordinary high water level, a variance of 12’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 100’ for a second story addition to Cabin No. 4 which will be 88’ from the ordinary high water
level and a variance of 42’ for from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a second story
addition to Cabin No. 2 which will be 58’ from the ordinary high water level. Randall Mann, Chair, polled
the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and
consideration, Cecil Femling made a motion, seconded by Michael Conlon and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance of 25’ from the required side lot line setback of 50’ for a 20’ by 39’ 5” addition to Cabin
No. 7. The Board noted that this proposed development would be no closer to the side lot line than the
existing structure. After additional discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded
by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried to approve a variance of 10’ from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 100’ for a 14’ by 2T, two-story addition to Cabin No. 5 which will be 90’ from the
ordinary high water level with the following conditions: 1) the 10.4' by 12.3’ shed must be placed at least
10’ from the side lot line and no closer to the ordinary high water level than Cabin No. 1 and 2.) the 10.3’ by
12.4’ shed (pump house) must be moved out of the road right-of-way. Both of these conditions must be
met before any permits can be issued for the proposed development. After additional consideration, Steve
Schierer made a motion, seconded by Michael Conlon and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
12’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for a second story addition to Cabin No. 4
located 88’ from the ordinary high water level and a variance of 42’ from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100’ for a second story addition to Cabin No. 2 located 58’ from the ordinary high water
level with the following conditions; 1) the 10.4’ by 12.3’ shed must be placed at least 10’ from the side lot
line and no closer to the ordinary high water level than Cabin No. 1 and 2.) the 10.3’ by 12.4’ shed (pump
house) must be moved out of the road right-of-way. Both of these conditions must be met before any
permits can be issued for the proposed development.
Marcus C Rian - Tabled (7:45 p.m.)
Marcus C Rian, Lot 5 North Shore Park, Jewett Lake in Elizabeth Township, requested a variance of 6’
from the required holding tank setback of 10’ for the placement of a holding tank 4’ from an existing garage.
Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with Frank Schander requesting that the required 10’ side lot line
setback be maintained. At the hearing, the applicant noted that he would like a 10’ variance from the
required 10’ setback for the placement of two holding tanks right next to his garage. After discussion and
consideration, Cecil Femling made a motion to approve the variance as requested. This motion died for
lack of a second. After additional discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded
by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to table, with the verbal permission of the applicant, this hearing
until the next meeting of the Board of Adjustment so that the appiicant can contact a septic system installer
for a proposed septic system installation plan/report that indicates that the proposed location is either the
best or only place to located the two holding tanks.
