Novembers, 1998 Page 8 Lorene Schumacher - Denied Lorene Schumacher, Perham, MN, requested a variance to subdivide, by metes and bounds description, a 10.3-acre tract into 3 tracts. Two of the three tracts will be less than the required minimum of 5 acres. The property is described as the northerly 10.3-acres in Government Lot 8, Section 20 of Hobart Township by Rose Lake. September 3,1998 Meeting - The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to table the-applicant’s request until the October 8, 1998 Board of Adjustment meeting for a review by the County Attorney’s office of the procedure for converting an easement road to a dedicated public road and for additional information concerning the status of easement roads. It was noted that George Walter would discuss this application with the County Attorney. October 8,1998 Meeting - After discussion and consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried to table the applicant's requested until the November 5, 1998 Board of Adjustment meeting so that the applicant can review the public road dedication process. November 5,1998 Meeting - The applicant contacted the office prior to the meeting and stated that she would not continue to pursue her variance request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested based upon the applicant’s statement to the office. Land and Resource Department Issues - t/“ark and Jean Rortvedt- A question has been raised concerning the replacement and raising of the roof on the applicants’ original structure. On September 3, 1998 a variance was granted for an addition to the existing structure. An inspection by the office revealed that the roof has been removed from the original structure. Apparently the original structure is to close to the lot-fine. The general consent of the membership of the Board of Adjustment is that since the footprint of the original structure is not changing the applicant should be allow to proceed with the replacement and raising of the roof which covered the original structure. Joel Scheer - Amended After consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by David Holmgren and unanimously carried, to amend the motion of August 6,1998, to read as follows: To approve a T variance from both lot lines for the placement of a garage no closer than 9’ from either lot line and a variance of 2' from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the placement of one corner of a 28' by 32’ garage 18’ from the road right-of-way. William and Janet Schicker- Modification of a variance granted October 1,1998. William and Janet Schicker requested a modification of the previously granted variance. It was the general consent of the Board that a new application for consideration should be submitted. It was noted that the proposed addition will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing structure and is within the string line.
