MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Cecil Ferriling and unani|^usly carried, to allow construction up to
what the string line test would permit on the river side of the applicant’s property. After additipj^al consideration and ^
discussion, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried with George Watler voting no, ^
to approve a variance of 6’ from the required North side lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 4’ from the required \
South side lot line setback of 10’ for an addition to an existing dwelling 4’ from the North side lot line and 6’ from the ^
South side lot line. It should be noted that the applicant is presently in the process of acquiring additional property for'
the location of a water and sewer system.

David Stanley Majkrzak - Approved
David Stanley Majkrzak, West Fargo, ND, requested a variance of 75’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 75’ for the placement of a 26’ by 32’ storage shed 0’ from the rear ordinary high water level (rear lake line).
The property is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 11 of Dunn Township by Big Pelican Lake. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cedi
Femling, seconded by Craig Anderson and carried with George Walter voting no, to approve a variance of 75’ from
the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the placement of a 26’ by 32’ storage shed 0’ from the rear
ordinary high water level noting that this is the best location for the stnjcture as suggested by both the Department of
Natural Resources and the Land and Resource Department. It should noted that the granting of this variance places
the structure approximately 55’ from the property line as shown on the drawing of the applicant’s property.
Michael J. Muellner - Tabled
Michael J. Muellner, Papillion, NE, requested a variance to subdivide, by metes and bounds description, an
unimproved 2.11 acre tract, with 300 feet of water frontage, into a 1.06 acre tract, with 150’ of water frontage, and a
1.05 acre tract, with 150’ of water frontage. The minimum size required for metes and bounds parcels within the
shoreland area is 5 acres. The property is described as part of Government Lot 4, Section 21 of Hobart Township by
Rose Lake. Dennis Happel, Attorney, represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with
Kevin Quittschreiber, James Marcy and Larry Urbach expressing concerns with the applicant’s request. After
consideration and discussion, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously
carried, to table this request until the October 3, 1996, Board of Adjustment meeting to allow the members of the
board an opportunity to inspect this property now that they have been informed as to its exact location.
Norm Umland - Approve
Norm Umland, New York Mills, MN, requested a variance of 6’ from the required North side lot line setback of 10’ and
a variance of 4’ from the required South side lot line setback of 10’ for an addition to an existing dwelling 4’ from the
North side lot line and 6’ from the South side lot line and for the location of a porch 6’ from the South side lot line and
a variance of 24’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 82’ from the required
ordinary high water ievel setback of 100’ for the location of the porch 76’ from the ordinary high water level of the lake
and 18’ from the ordinary high water level of the river. The property is described as that part of Reserve Block A lying
between the North and South Line of Lot 2, Block 2, Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds, West Leaf Lake in Leaf Lake
Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was
made by John Everts, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to allow construction up to what the string
line test would permit on the river side of the applicant’s property. After additional consideration and discussion,
motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and carried with George Watler voting no, to approve
a variance of 6’ from the required North side lot line setback of 10’ and a variance of 4’ from the require^ South side
lot line setback of 10’ for an addition to an existing dwelling 4’ from the North side lot line and 6’ from the South side

Bryan S. Lonski - Tabled
Bryan S. Lonski, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance of 103’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of
200, a variance of 52’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ and a variance to construct a two
story garage having a height of less 18’ and being 97’ from the ordinary high water level on the south side and 148’
from the ordinary high water level on the north side. The property is described as Sub Lot 1 of Government Lot 3,
Section 29 of Everts Township by Elbow (Bass) Lake. The applicant was not in attendance at the scheduled hearing.
After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to
tabled the applicant’s request until the October 3, 1996, Board of Adjustment meeting.
