I understand that I have applied for a variance from the requirements of the Shoreland Management Ordinance of Otter Tall
County.
MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 1’
from the required 3’ vertical separation of the lowest floor from the ordinary high water level for the construction of a
22’ by 24’ garage having a 2’ vertical separation from the ordinary high water level and a variance of 20’ from the
required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the construction of an addition to a cabin 0’ from the road right-of-way.
Hardship being a substandard lot of record. It was noted that the sewer and water systems will be updated.

Ardeith Juven Richter, Wahpeton, ND, requested a variance to subdivide an existing parcel into eight 2.5 acre tracts
for residential development. A registered surveyor's drawing is on file with the County Auditor’s office. The property
is described as Sub Lots 9, 15 and 16 of the Southeast Quarter, Section 24 of Fergus Falls Township by Hoot Lake.
The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by
Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide an existing
parcel into eight 2.5 acres tracts for residential development subject to the approval, by the Fergus Falls Town Board,
of the roads and cul-de-sacs that will be serving these parcels and with the condition that an area must be identified
on tract number 3 where a cul-de-sac could be constructed should a need arise to do so in the future.
Raymond Uselman, Jr. - Approved
Raymond Useiman, Jr., Perham, MN, requested a variance to purchase five feet from the adjacent property owned by
Leo and Dorothy Neuerburg for permanent attachment to the West 75’ of Lot 12, Big Pine Point and to that part of
Government Lot 3 presently owned by the applicant. A recent survey detemriined that the applicant’s house is
currently 2 to 2.5’ over on the adjacent property. The property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Section 15
of Pine Lake Township by Big Pine Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request.
After consideration, motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance to purchase 5’ from the adjacent property, owned by Leo and Dorothy Neuerburg, for permanent
attachment to the property presently owned by the applicant. It was noted that the granting of this variance will place
the ^licant’s home entirely on the applicant’s property and wiii enabie the appiicant to maintain his dwelling without aco^inq the neighbor’s property.

construction of an addition to a cabin 0’ from the road right-of-way. The property is described as Lots 2 and 3, Block
3, Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds, West Leaf Lake in Leaf Lake Township. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. A letter from the Leaf Lake Board of Supervisors in favor of the applicant’s
request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts
and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 1’ from the required 3’ vertical separation of the lowest floor from
the ordinary high water ievel for the construction of a 22’ by 24’ garage having a 2’ vertical separation from the
ordinary high water level and a variance of 20’ from the required road right-of-way setback of 20’ for the construction

Berthel Johnson - Approved
Berthel Johnson, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance to replace an existing 16’ by 50’ upright concrete stave
silo with a new 16’ by 50’ upright concrete stave silo using the existing foundation. The property is described as the
Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 20 of Lida Township by Lake Lida. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by
Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve the variance as requested noting that the 16’ by 50’ stave silo is
approximately 400’ from the ordinary high water level and it is for use by an agricultural operation.

Lots 2 & 3, Block 3, Leaf Lake Pleasure Grounds
The Leaf Lake Board of Supervisors have no objection to Mr. Peterson's
request for a variance for building in the road right-of-way as; the
township only maintains 25 feet of tarred road in that area as there
are several buildings and fences extending into the right-of-way.
