(6:58 p.m.) Brian E Schmidt Tst Et Al, part of Government Lot 5 and part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 32 of Everts Township by Elbow Lake requested a variance of 75’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the placement of a dwelling 125’ from the ordinary high water level. Mr. Houselog was interested in knowing how this specific request might affect properties closer to his own property. It was noted that each property and each application is unique and given individual consideration. Mr. Gedde spoke in opposition to the variance as requested because he felt it would negatively impact his use of his property for hunting. After consideration and discussion, Michael Harris made a motion, second by Rod Boyer and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 45’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the placement of a dwelling 155’ from the ordinary high water level. The practical difficulties/hardships are terrain and drainage issues. The granting of the variance as approved will provide the applicant with a reasonable use of his property. It should also be noted that the variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development. Lunde Trust - Variance application approved as requested.
