Steven A. and Patricia Jensen, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of approximately 2' from the maximum
height requirement of 30' and a variance for an additional 1 /2 story from the two story maximum for
dwellings for a 2 1 /2 story dwelling with an approximate height of 32'. The property is described as the
South Half of the Southwest Quarter, Section 26 of Buse Township. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Randall
Mann and unanimously carried, to approve a variance that would allow for the placement of a structure not to
exceed 36' in'height. Hardship being the unique architecture of the structure that is being moved onto the
applicants' property. It should be noted that the placement of this structure will not obstruct vision of
adjacent property owners.
Donald Brown Et. Al. % Ester Brown - Approved
Donald Brown Et. Al, ^ Ester Brown, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance to subdivide Lot 4 of Preston's
West Acres without a surveyor's drawing. The applicant is proposing to split Lot 4 into two parcels and to
attach part of Lot 4 to Lot 3 and to keep the balance of Lot 4 as a separate buildable lot. The applicant plans to
grant an easement to the public roaJ for that portion of Lot 4 that is to remain as a separate lot. The property
is described as Lot 4, Preston's West Acres, Jewett Lake in Elizabeth Township. The audience was polled with
no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by
Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance that would allow the applicant to convey a part
of Lot 4, described as starting at the Southwest corner of Lot 4 and heading easterly 35' and lying westerly of
the current access road to the dwelling that is located on Lot 4, to the owner of Lot 3 with the condition that a
registered surveyor's drawing will be provided at the time of recording.
Cyril N. Keller - Approved
Cyf'il N. Keller, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance to subdivide a lot of less than 2.5 acres. The applicant
is proposing to transfer 20.41' from Parcel A and to permanently attach the 20.41' to Parcel B. After the
conveyance Parcel B would have 100’ of frontage. The property is described as part of Government Lot 4.
Section 2 of Everts Township on Otter Tail Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against
the request. After consideration, motion was made by Carl Johnson, seconded by Cecil Femling and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance that would permit the applicant to transfer approximately 20.41'
from Parcel A and to permanently attach the 20.41' to Parcel B as identified on the applicant's drawing
provided that the applicant will provide a registered surveyor's drawing at the time of the recording. Parcel A
and Parcel B will meet and/or exceed the minimum requirements for platted lots on a general development
lake.
Charles J. Reiss - Approved
Charles J. Reiss. Taunton, MN. requested a variance of approximately 1' from the required side lot line setback
of 1 O'. a variance of approximately 90' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a
variance of approximately 40' from the required shore impact zone setback of 50' for an approximate 12' by
12' screened in porch approximately 9' from the side lot line and 10' from the ordinary high water level. The
property is described as parcel ^ 27 of Government Lot 8, Section 3 of Nidaros Township on Stuart Lake. The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request.

After consideration, motion was made by John Everts, seconded by Craig Anderson and unanimously carried, to
approve a variance from the ordinary high water level setback and a variance from the shore impact zone
setback for the aidition of a screened-in porch to the west wing of the present structure with the condition that
the addition will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the existing west wing. Hardship being a
substandard lot of record.
Charles and Ruth Hudson - Approved
Charles and Ruth Hudson, Lincoln, NE, requested a variance of 6.5’ to 7’ from the required shore impact zone
setback of 37.5', a variance of 44' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the
construction of a 12' by 14' screen porch onto an existing structure 31' from the ordinary high water level
and a variance of approximately 25' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the
construction of an 8' by 1 O' addition to the rear of the existing structure approximately 50’ from the ordinary
high water level. The property is described as part of Government Lot 3, Sa:tion 22 of Pine Lake Township on
Big Pine Lake. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration,
motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Carl Johnson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance
of 6.5' to 7' from the required shore impact zone setback of 37.5', a variance of 44' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the construction of a 12' by 14' screen porch onto an existing
structure 31' from the ordinary high water level and a variance of approximately 25' from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 75' for the construction of an 8' by 1 O' addition to the rear of the existing
structure approximately 50' from the ordinary high water level. It should be noted that the additions will be
no closer to the lake than the present structure.
Craig A. Johnson - Approved IV
Craig A, Johnson, Fergus Falls, MN, requested the following variances: 1 .)a variance of 45' from the required,
ordinary high water level setback of 75', a variance of 7.5' from the required shore impact zone setback of
37.5', a variance of 2' from the required road right-of-way setback of 20' for the replacement of a 20' by
35' existing structure with a 20' by 35' new structure on an existing basement 30' from the ordinary high
water level and 18’ from the road right-of-way, 2.) a variance of 34' from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 75' for the construction of a 22’ by 24' addition to the new structure 41 ’ from the ordinary
high water level, and 3.) a variance of approximately 33’ from the required ordinary high water level setback
of 75' and a variance of approximately 8' from the required side lot line setback of 1 O' for the construction of
a 10' by 20' addition to an existing garage approximately 42' from the ordinary high water level and
approximately 2' from the side lot line. The property is described as Lots 6 and 7, Block 1, Baker's Addition to
Sand Beach Park, Otter Tail Lake in Everts Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Carl Johnson, seconded by Craig Anderson and
carried with John Everts voting no, to approve the variances as requested per the applicant's drawing for the
replacement of the existing 20' by 35' structure, for a 22' by 24' addition to the new structure and for a 10'
by 20’ addition to the existing garage with the condition that the existing building closest to the lake will be
used only for storage. Hardshio being a substandard lot of record.
