proposed garage would end up being 4’ from the north property line when we meet the other required setbacks. We are asking for
a variance to be 4’ off the property line rather than the required 10’. Requesting a 6’ variance. The audience was polled with no
one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Darren Newville offered a motion, with
the applicant’s verbal permission, to table this request until the June 8, 2017 meeting of the Board of Adjustment so that the
applicant could have an opportunity to find and present additional information regarding the wetland and the 3’ vertical separation
requirement. This motion was seconded by Thomas Lee and unanimously carried.

audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Steve
Schierer made a motion, seconded by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve the proposed subdivision with the
condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be presented at the time of conveyance. The board members found the
request to be reasonable and the granting of the request is consistent with past decisions. The variance as approved does not
directly or indirectly grant any other variances for future development.
Nathan Hoff Et A1 - Variance application approved as requested with a condition. (8:22 p.m.)
Nathan Hoff Et Al, part of Government Lot 1, Section 26 of Tordenskjold Township by Stalker Lake, requested the following:
The proposed 34’ by 42’ cabin, which includes an 8’ covered porch, will be 75’ from the shoreline. Requesting a 25’ variance
from the required setback of 100’. The applicant was represented by Kate Hoff, Mark Jacobs and the Honorable Peter Hoff The
audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul
Larson made a motion, seconded by Darren Newville and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 25’ from the required
ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a 34’ by 42’ cabin, which includes an 8’ covered porch, 75’ from
the ordinary high water level with the condition that the applicant must transfer adequate property to the parcel to the west so that
no portion of the dwelling on the adjacent property is on the applicant’s property and must maintain a parcel of at least 40,000
square feet. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development or
for any future development.
Chuck and Patty Hendricks - Variance application approved as requested with a condition. (8:30 p.m.)
Chuck and Patty Hendricks, part of Government Lots 3 and 6, Section 9 of Dunn Township by Pelican Lake, requested the
following: Existing home is located within 2’ 6” off property line thus requiring a setback variance to build a second story
addition and attached garage. (Required setback is 10’) Existing site is 43% impervious area thus requiring a variance to replace
a detached garage with an attached garage. New proposed impervious to be 49.3%. Proposing to keep existing pavers and
reconfigure for sidewalks etc. Existing home is located within 54’ of the ordinary high water level thus requiring a variance for a
second story addition and attached garage. (Required setback is 75”) The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Paul Larson made a motion to approve the variance as
requested with the condition that no more than 43% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. This
motion died for lack of a second. After additional discussion and consideration, Thomas Lee made a motion, seconded by Steve
Schierer and unanimously carried, to approve a side lot line variance and an ordinary high water level variance for the proposed
development as described in the variance application dated April 18, 2017, which includes a second story addition and an attached
garage with the condition that no more than 40% of the total eligible lot area can be covered with impervious surfaces. The
variances as approved do not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development or for future
development. .
