You had contacted our Office regarding the number of signs allowed with the approval for
your request under Conditional Use Permit #6464. This is to inform you that the Planning
Commission discussed this issue on September 12, 2007, and at that time, they made a
clarification regarding the number of signs allowed under Conditional Use Permit #6464.
As you can see in the enclosed revision of your Conditional Use Permit Card, their intent
was to allow the common pole sign as requested, for a total of 4 signs.

A Preliminary Plat titled "Hidden Shores Addition” consisting of 8 Single Family Residential
Lots, 1 Block; and a Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant): for
construction of a road in the proposed plat of “Hidden Shores Addition”. The proposed
road will be constructed to meet the minimum road standards per Appendix III of the
Subdivision Controls Ordinance of Otter Tail County. The property is described as NE1/4
NW1/4, GL 2 ex tr, GL 4 & Sub Lot A of GL 3 ex tr, Section 31 of Scambler Township;
Grove Lake (56-952), NE.
Motion - August 8. 2007: A motion by Wilson, second by Maske, to table (at the
Applicant’s request) to September 12, 2007 (material must be received by Land &
Resource by August 22, 2007), to allow the Applicant to address the following: 1. Extend
the lotlines to the OHWL. 2. Work with Scambler Township and their concerns regarding
access to 155^'' Ave. and the cul-de-sac.
Bill Kalar read a letter from Alan Haugrud, Applicant’s attorney, requesting the Application
be tabled to October, waiving the 60 Day Rule.
Motion: A motion by Trites, second by Maske to table to October 10, 2007 as requested
by the Applicant in their letter. Voting: All members in favor.

Steve Langlie (Anderson, Howe & Langlie) represented the Application.
Marcia Nelson expressed concerns regarding dividing the lots if purchased by lakeshore
owners, environmental impact on the lake (density), restrictions regarding the types of
buildings, & the road. Jeannie Stromberg expressed concerns regarding their septic
system and proposed driveways.
Motion: A motion by Estes, second by Boyer to approve as presented. Voting: All
members in favor.
Pebble Lake Auto Repair / Dale Formo - Clarification: Bill Kalar discussed with the ^ Commission their motion regarding CUP# 6464, and requested a clarification in the total
number of signs that would be allowed. After some discussion, it was determined that the
intention was to allow the common pole sign as requested, and the 3 signs as stated in the
motion for a total of 4 signs.
Break: At 7:08 P.M. the Commission took a 25 minute break.

Evarae Herbst - Approved As Presented:
A Preliminary Plat of “Fosberg’s Addition to Cha-Rosa Beach” consisting of 1 Non-
Residential backlot, 1 Block to be attached to Lot 17 Cha-Rosa Beach. The property is
described as Lots 1 & 2 ex platted ex trs. Section 12 of Scambler Township: Pelican Lake
(56-786), GD.

the potential of backlots in the future.

September 12, 2007 (material must be received by Land & Resource by August 22, 2007),
to allow the Applicant to address the following: 1. Extend the lotlines to the OHWL. 2.

Allan Eckley Trust-Approved As Requested:
A Conditional Use Permit Application (as stated by the Applicant): y\le request permission to
build a block retaining wall along the bank on the beach, due to erosion. Proposed wall will
be 50’ long, 1’ wide & 3’ high. Backfill will consist of pea gravel and sand; less than 5 cubic
yds. The property is described as Eureka Beach Lot 7, Section 13 of Elizabeth Township;
Jewett Lake (56-877), GD.
Janice Erdal and Irene Eckley represented the Application.
Motion: A motion by Wilson, second by Schwartz , to approve the original plan, provided

Filing Extension - St. Lawrence Estates Second Addition
Attorney, Bob Bigwood, requested an extension for filing the Final Plat known as “St.
Lawrence Estates Second Addition. Motion by Nelson, second by Froemming, and
unanimously carried to approve an extension, until September 15, 2007, to file the Final Plat
entitled “St. Lawrence Estates Second Addition/Helen Boedigheimer Trust” due to several
permit requirements that delayed the developer. This motion is also subject to the approval
of the Land & Resource Director.
