MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was ma^ by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a
variance of 60' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a variance of 10' from
the required shore impact zone setback of 50' for an addition to an existing structure The addition will
be no closer to the lake than the existing structure and no side lot line setback variances are necessary.

for option ^1 - a 34' by 44' 2nd story addition to an existing structure or a variance of 2' from the
required side lot line setback of 10' for option ^2 - removal of the existing structure and replacing it
with a new 34' by 44' structure. The property is described as the Southwest 1 /2 of Lot 6, Siebel's
Beach, Little Pine Lake in Gorman Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Cecil Femling, seconded by John Everts
and carried with Craig Anderson voting no, to approve the construction of a 34' wide structure centered
on the lot. The existing bunkhouse/storage building must be used for storage only.
Paul Raymond Pfelfle - Denied
Paul Raymond Pfeifle, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested a variance of approximately 3 to 4' for the
construction of a 40' by 80' shed with a height in excess of 18', The maximum height permitted for a
non-dwelling structure is 18', The property is described as part of Government Lot 4 and 8, Section
10 of Lida Township on Lake Lida, The audience was polled with Jim Schreiner and Mrs, Richard
Campbell speaking against the granting of the variance request. After consideration, motion was made
by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling, to approve the variance as requested. The motion failed
with Dan Oehler, John Everts, George Walter and Bert Olson voting no, After additional consideration,
motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Dan Oehler and carried with Cecil Femling voting no, to
deny the variance as requested as no adequate hardship had been shown.
Ray Braun - Approved
Ray Braun, Fergus Falls, MN. requested a variance of approximately 39' from the required ordinary-
high water level setback of 100' for the construction of a 4' by 16' addition to an existing structure 61'
from the ordinary high water level. The property is described as part of Sub Lot 7 of Government Lot
3, Section 24 of Buse Township on Swan Lake, The audience was polled with Sidney Felber speaking to
this request. After consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by John Everts and
unanimously carried, to approve a variance of approximately 39' from the required ordinary high
water level setback of 100' for the construction of a 4' by 16' addition to an existing structure 61'
from the ordinary high water level and not to exceed a height of 10', This addition is approved as a
water - oriented accessory structure and no additional structures will be permitted in front of the
house.
Kenneth F. Haley - Approved
Kenneth F, Haley, Richville, MN, requested a variance of 60' from the required ordinary high water
level setback of 100’ and a variance of 1 O' from the required shore impact zone setback of 50' for an
addition to an existing structure. The property is described as Lot 5, Pulford's Beach Addn,, Walker
Lake in Amor Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After
consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried,
to approve a variance of 60' from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' and a variance
of 10' from the required shore impact zone setback of 50' for an addition to an existing structure. The
addition will be no closer to the lake than the existing structure and no side lot line setback variances
are necessary.

John W. Weiss - Approved
John W, Weiss, Austin, TX, requested the necessary variances for the following: 1,) To Build up to a
26' by 38' garage with an attached up to 12' by 38' covered RV parking (total not more than 38' by
38'); not less than 30' from the lake, not less than 22' from canal and not less than 8' from the Marina
- all subject to 10'setbacks; 2.) To build a H'addition along the South (Marina) side and up to the
full length of the existing cabin and being no closer to the lake 53', not less than 35' from the Marina
and being not less than 8' from the side lot line-service drive at the Southeasterly corner of the
addition; 3.) To build a three season porch addition along the North (lake) side of the cabin of up to 14'
by 26' beginning at the easterly end of the cabin subject to sewer tank 10'distance and 65'(53' +12')
from lake on west side. Deck would be relocated westerly, The property is described as Lot 3, Block 1,
Blarney Beach, Otter Tail Lake in Everts Township, The audience was polled with no one speaking for or
against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts
and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to construct a 14' addition along the South (Marina)
side and up to the full length of the existing cabin and being no closer to the lake (53'), not less than
35' from the Marina and being not less than 8' from the side lot line service drive at the Southeasterly
corner of the addition. After additional consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by
Dan Oehler and unanimously carried, to approve a water - oriented accessory structure (screened
porch), not to exceed 260 square feet in area or 10' in height, being 65' from the lake on the west side.
After further consideration, motion was made by Dan Oehler, seconded by Craig Anderson to approve a
26' by 30' garage with no RY attachment and with the condition that the existing 14' by 22' garage will
be removed, A motion to amend the above motion to a 24' by 24' garage was offered by John Everts and
seconded by George Walter, The motion to amend carried with Dan Oehler and Craig Anderson voting no,
The Board proceeded to take action on the amended motion which states to approve a 24' by 24' garage
having no attachment for an RV and with the condition that the existing 1 4' by 22' garage will be
removed. The amended motion carried with Dan Oehler and Craig Anderson voting no, The granting of
the amended motion allows the applicant a reasonable use of his property. The Board then had a
discussion as to where the 24' by 24' garage would be located. It was suggested that the garage be
located as far away from both bodies of water as possible. At least a minimum of 10' from the Marina
and Canal. A motion was made by John Everts, seconded by George Walter and carried with Craig
Anderson voting no, to locate the 24' by 24' garage as depicted on the applicant's drawing ( Starting at
the north corner of the garage as depicted on the original drawing extending 24' to the Southwest and
24' to the Southeast),
Madsen's Resort, Charles Malmstrom - Approved
Madsen's Resort, Charles Malmstrom, Battle Lake, MN, requested a variance of approximately 20' from
the required side lot line setback for cluster developments of 50' for the construction of a 6' by 8'
addition to an existing cabin. The property is described as part of OutlotsAand B, Blanche Lake Beach,
Blanche Lake in Everts Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the
request. After consideration, motion was made by Bert Olson, seconded by Dan Oehler and carried with
John Everts abstaining, to approve a variance of approximately 20' from the required side lot line
setback for cluster developments of 50' for the construction of a 6' by 8' addition to an existing cabin.
The addition will be no closer to the lot line than the existing structure. This is an existing resort.
