The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance: Susan Metzger - Variance application approved as requested. (6:32 p.m.) Susan Metzger, part of Lot 22 Roinez Beach and part of Government Lot 1, Section 27 of Amor Township by Otter Tail Lake, requested the following: We are asking for a variance being 38’ from the ordinary high water level to allow us to construct an upper level on our home. The construction would be behind the string line of the homes on either side of us, but only 38’ from the ordinary high water. Requesting a 37’ variance, required setback is 75’. Bill Metzger and Rick Bladow, Contractor appeared with the applicant. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion. Ward Uggerud made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 37’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 75’ for the placement of the proposed development as described in the variance application and as depicted on the drawing submitted with the variance application 38’ from the ordinary high water level. Required lot line setback is 10’. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. An email from William and Della Nystrom in support of the variance as requested was read for the record. After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, second by Jodi Sazama and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 8’ from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the placement of deck and cantilevered closet 2’ from the side lot line. The variance as approved will provide the applicant with the ability to enjoy the same rights and privileges as others in this immediate area. The development does not obstruct the view from the adjacent properties. The variance as approved does not directly or indirectly grant any other variances for the proposed development. Hardship/practical difficulty is a substandard lot of record.
