amille Schultz - Approved the variance as requested. (7:20 p.m.)
Camille Schultz, Lot 3 Rogers Subdivision, Ten Mile Lake in Tumuli Township, requested a variance to
have Lot 3 Rogers Subdivision declared a build able lot for residential purposes. The audience was polled
with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. An email from Robert W. Fullerton in
opposition to the variance as requested was read for the record. After discussion and consideration, Steve
Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and unanimously carried, to declare Lot 3 Rogers
Subdivision a build able lot for residential purposes. It was noted that the variance as approved is
consistent with the other lots in this subdivision and will allow the applicant to enjoy the same rights and
privileges as others in this development.
Steven and Rebecca Freije - Denied. (7:36 p.m.)
Steven and Rebecca Freije, Lots 3 and 4 Block 1 Oak Haven Subdivision, Tamarac Lake in Scambler
Township, requested a variance of 2’ 7” from the 20’ maximum allowable height of a non dwelling structure
for the construction of a 42’ by 60’ structure having a height of 22’ 7”. The audience was polled with no one
speaking for or against the variance as requested. After discussion and consideration, Randall Mann
made a motion, second by Steve Schierer and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested
noting that no adequate hardship unique to the property had been shown that would allow for the granting
of the variance as requested and noting that the applicants can obtain a reasonable use of their property
without the requested variance. It was also noted that approving the variance as requested would establish
precedence that the Board does not wish to establish.
Richard and Joan Haire - Approved the variance as modified. (7:45 p.m.)
Richard and Joan Haire, part of Government Lot 2, Section 1 of Everts Township by Otter Tail Lake,
requested the following: We want to make it a build able lot for a garage and dwelling. Lot created in May
of 1974. Requesting variance to have the lot declared buildable for residential purposes. The audience
was polled with Ray DeBoever speaking for the variance as requested. Letters from Kathleen Hoeft, Edith
Cook and Ronald and Marilee Tischer and emails from Betty Freese, Bruce and Nancy Monson and Ray
and Peg DeBoever in support of the variance as requested were read for the record. After discussion and
consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, second by Paul Larson and carried with Randall Mann voting
no, to approve the lot described in the variance application dated May 9, 2007 as a build able lot for non
residential/dwelling purposes.
Scott Miller - Approved the variance as requested. (8:02 p.m.)
Scott Miller, Lot 2 Outlet Beach, Lake Lida in Lida Township, requested the following: Replace front of
cabin (12 by 26.6) with same footprint with the exception of a 6” jog. Replace existing shed roof with a
gable roof on cabin front section. Scaled drawing shows structure to be 55’ from the ordinary high water
level at the closest point. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the variance as
requested. After discussion and consideration, Michael Harris made a motion, second by Ken Erickson
and unanimously carried, to approve the proposed development as described in the variance application
dated April 25, 2007 and as depicted on the drawings submitted with the variance application. The
proposed development will in a single story. It was noted that the proposed development will protect and
improve the original structure.
