Meeting of the Otter Tail County Planning Commission was held on August 15, 1979
at 7:30 P.M. in the Commissioner's Room, Court House, Fergus Falls, Minnesota 56537.
Members present were: Beck, Trltes, Estes, Lachowltzer, Ryan, Lindquist, Lee
and Sproull. Michael L. Kirk also present.
Passed:A motion by Lachowltzer, second by Lee to approve the minutes of
the August 1, 1979 meeting as mailed.
Voting: All members in favor.
A motion by Beck, second by Ryan to approve the Certificate of Survey
of Robert C. Swenson on East Spirit Lake in Secs 4 add 9 of Dora Twp.
Lake No. 56-501, as presented.
Passed:
Voting: All members in favor.
Passed:A motion by Lachowltzer, second by Ryan to approve the preliminary plat
plans of Wallace Addition. Sec. 9 of Pine Lake Twp. on Big Pine Lake,
No. 56-130, gD subject to a name change. Developer is Edwin Wallace,
Perham, Minnesota 56573.
Voting: “All mekbers in favor.
Passed:A motion by Beck, second by Lachowltzer to deny the special use
application of Ole Lather, dated July 6, 1979 on Rush Lake, No. 56-141,
GD, Sec. 13 of Rush Lake Twp. Waino Paavola spoke to the Commission.
Voting: All members in favor.
Passed:A motion by Lee, second by Lachowltzer to table the special use
application of J.C. Schultz, dated July 15, 1979 on Pelican Lake,
No. 56-786, GD, Sec. 12 of Scambler Twp. until litigation is settled
between the County and Mr. Schultz. Surveyor's drawing on drainage
is required before further consideration. Mr. Krekelberg and Mr. Schultz
appeared before the Commission.
Voting: All members in favor.
A motion by Lindquist, second by Estes to approve the special use
application of Erwin Brutlag, dated July 27, 1979 on Ten Mile Lake,
No. 56-613, RD, Sec. 32 of Tumuli Twp.
Passed:]
Voting: All members in favor.
Board of Adjustment August 16, 1979- 2
rwin Brutlag, requested permission to build a shop with one comer 10' from
lot line rather than the required 20', on Lot 11, First Add'n to Ed's Sunrise Beach,
Tumuli Township. Motion was made by Calvin Johanson, seconded by Craig Anderson
and carried, to grant variance of 10' side yard on one comer, hardship being a
better placement on lot.
Bruce R. Moore, requested permission to have an 8' x 12' beach house remain
at a 40* set back from the lak^, on Lot 21, Lenius First Add'n, Edna Township.
Motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by George Walter and carried, to table
matter for clarification on information.
Donald Momsen, requested permission to construct cottage 79.5 feet from lake
shore rather than required 100', on Ft. of S.L. D West of Lot 18 of Blanche Lake
Beach, located in Sections 1 ^ 12 of Everts Township.
Johanson, seconded by George Walter and carried, to grant variance to set back
in line with the Lohry and Haberman cabins, which at this time are 79.5' back
Motion was made by Calvin
from the lake. Hardship being set in line with neighboring existing cottages.
There being no further business, upon motion made by Calvin Johanson,
seconded by George Walter and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
