After additional consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by Randall Mann and unanimously carried, to deny a variance to exceed the 16' maximum height for a non-dwelling structure by 2' as no adequate hardship had been shown and public safety concerns have been expressed. The audience was polled with Ron Ross and Elder Engeledorf speaking against the variance request. Letters from the following individuals opposing the variance request were read for the record: Ronald and Yvonne Breuer, Larry Westberg, Ron Ross and Ann Schultz. The property is described as part of Government Lot 2, Section 20 of Lida Township on Lake Lida. John Tredennick represented the applicant at the public hearing. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or agairist t>ie request. A letter from Alan R. Haper requesting clarification of the variance request was placed on file for the record. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide a parcel of less than 5 acres with the provision that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided when the property is conveyed. The purpose of the subdivision is to construct a new road which will provide direct access from the Tredennick property to a new township road. The granting of the variance will allow for the abandonment of an easement that crosses the Thompson property. Jack L. Keenan - Approved Jack L. Keenan, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of 5’ from the required drain field setback of 20' for the location of a structure 15’ from the drain field. The property is described as Lot 3, Anderson Beach, Kail Lake in Dane Prairie Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Craig Anderson, seconded by John Everts and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 5' from the required drain field setback of 20’ for the location of a structure 15' from the drain field. It was noted that the addition does not have a basement (crawl space only) and that the location of the addition will not interfere with the maintenance of the drain field.
