Motion
Bradley J. Holden - Approved a modified variance. (6:33 p.m.)
After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously
carried, to approve a variance of 100’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 200’ for the location of a
building site 100’ from the ordinary high water level. The Board noted that there is adequate room at the 100’ setback
for the placement of a structure and that the variance as approved will keep the structure out of the shore impact zone.
After additional discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Paul Larson and
unanimously carried, to approve the placement of the septic system at the best location as determined by the Land
and Resource Management Department. Hardship.itf 'a substandard Jot of record.7

OF THE
OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
Thursday, July 1, 2004
The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, July 1, 2004, with the following persons in
attendance:
Michael C. Conlon
Paul Larson
Steve Schierer
Kyle Westergard, Land and Resource Management
Cherie Clark, Assistant County Attorney

6:30 p.m.
Minutes Approved -
The membership of the Board of Adjustment approved the minutes of the June 10, 2004 meeting as mailed
noting the following clarification:
David and Sonja Kosler - The relocated storage shed can be either the existing 6’ by 14' structure or a
new 6’ by 14’ structure as long as that structure is in a complying location behind the applicants' existing
dwelling.
The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance:
Irene Markegard - Approved the variance application as requested. (6:30 p.m.)
Irene Markegard, Lot 2 Ironwood Beach, Pickerel Lake in Maine Township, requested a variance of 57’
from the required ordinary high.water level setback of 100’ and a variance of 7’ from the required shore
impact zone setback of 50’ for the repair of an existing attached porch 43’ from the ordinary high water
level. Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as
requested. After consideration and discussion, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Michael
Conlon and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 57’ from the required ordinary high water level
setback of 100’ and a variance of 7’ from the required shore impact zone setback of 50’ for the repair of an
existing attached porch 43’ from the ordinary high water level. The Board noted that this is maintenance to
an existing structure and that the repaired porch will be no closer to the ordinary high water level than the
existing porch.
Bradley J. Holden - Approved a modified variance. (6:33 p.m.)
Bradley J. Holden, Lots 18 and 19, Pleasure Point, Fish Lake in Aurdal Township, requested a variance of

level. The Board noted that there is adequate room at the 100’ setback for the placement of a structure
and that the variance as .approved will keep the structure out of the shore impact zone. After additional
discussion and consideration, Steve Schierer made a motion, seconded by Paul Larson and unanimously
carried, to approve the placement of the septic system at the best location as determined by the Land and
