(6:47 p.m.) After consideration and discussion, Paul Larson made a motion, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to approve a variance to subdivide an existing 4.12-acre parcel into a 1.87-acre parcel and a 2.25-acre parcel with the condition that a registered surveyor’s drawing must be provided at the time of conveyance. The Board noted that each parcel has public road access, are within a commercial area and that the granting of this request is consistent with past actions of the Board of Adjustment. Printers • Fergus Falls, Minnesota MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE OTTER TAIL COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT Thursday, August 12, 2004 The Otter Tail County Board of Adjustment met Thursday, August 12, 2004, with the following persons in attendance; Cecil Femling Paul Larson Mark Ronning, Land and Resource Management David Hauser, County Attorney Frank Lachowitzer Randall Mann Called to Order - Randall Mann, Chair called the meeting of the Board of Adjustment to order at 6:30 p.m. Minutes Approved - The membership of the Board of Adjustment approved the minutes of the August 5, 2004 meeting as mailed. The Board of Adjustment considered the following applications for variance: David J and Jean A Sticha - Tabled (6:32 p.m.) David J. and Jean A. Sticha, part of Government Lots 2 and 3, Section 26 of Tordenskjold Township by Stalker Lake, requested a variance of 50’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100' for the placement of a structure 50’ from the ordinary high water level and a variance for the placement of a septic system in the best location as determined by the Land and Resource Department. A representative (Jay Weer) from Whispering Pine Log Homes appeared with the applicants at the public hearing. Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested. After consideration and discussion, Randall Mann made a motion, seconded by Frank Lachowitzer to approve a variance of 40’ from the required ordinary high water level setback of 100’ for the placement of a structure 60’ from the ordinary high water level and to deny the variance as requested for the location of a septic system. It was noted that a 40’ variance would provide the applicants with a reasonable use of their property. After additional discussion, this motion was withdrawn. After additional consideration and discussion, Randall Mann made a motion, seconded by Frank Lachowitzer and unanimously carried, to table the applicants’ variance request until the September 2, 2004 meeting for a septic system installer’s plan. Joel Teberg - Approved as requested with a condition. (6:47 p.m.) Joel Teberg, part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 29 of Aurdal Township, requested a variance to subdivide an existing 4.12-acre parcel into two tracts. One tract would be 1.87 acres and the other would be 2.25 acres. The minimum size required for non-shoreland metes and bounds parcels is 2.5 acres. John LeRoy appeared with the applicant at the public hearing. Randall Mann, Chair, polled the audience with no one speaking for or against the variance as requested.
