MOTION AS FOLLOWS:
Motion was made by Randall Mann, seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of
6’ from the required 18’ maximum height of a non-dwelling structure for the construction of an addition to an existing
church having an overall height of 24’. It should be noted that the addition will not obstruct the view of the adjacent
properties. Hardship being a pre-existing structure.

Neil and Carmen Qualey, Moorhead, MN, requested a variance of 10' from the required drain field setback of 10’ and
a variance of 6' from the required side lot line setback of 10’ for the construction of a garage less than 10’ from the
neighbor’s drain field and approximately 4’ from the side lot line. The property is described as Lot 21, Shirley Beach,
Otter Tail Lake in Amor Township. The audience was polled with no one speaking for or against the request. A letter
from Mildred Wermager in favor of the request was read for the record. After consideration, motion was made by
Craig Anderson, seconded by Cecil Femling and unanimously carried, to deny the variance as requested as no
adequate hardship had been shown.

Stavanger Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, MN, requested a variance of 6’ from the required 18’ maximum height of a
non-dwelling structure for the construction of an addition to an existing church having an overall height of 24’. The
property is described as part of Government Lot 1, Section 4 of Aurdal Township by Mud Lake. The audience was
polled with no one speaking for or against the request. After consideration, motion was made by Randall Mann,
seconded by Robert Schwartz and unanimously carried, to approve a variance of 6' from the required 18’ maximum
height of a non-dwelling stnjcture for the construction of an addition to an existing church having an overall height of
24’. It should be noted that the addition will not obstruct the view of the adjacent properties. Hardship being a pre
existing structure.
Mitchel L. and Elaine A. Olson - Withdrawn
Mitchel L. and Elaine A. Olson and Donovan and Barbara Folden, Pelican Rapids, MN, requested the following:
“Pending approval to vacate portions of dedicated road in the plats of Ballards Cozy Bay and Ballards Cozy Bay First
Addition, applicants desire to dedicate a new road including the westerly 66’ of Lot Six (6), Block Two (2), of Ballards
Cozy Bay First Addition and to create two new lots, the first consisting of the easterly 34’ of Lot Six (6), and the
westerly 66’ of Lot Five (5), and the second consisting of Lot Four (4), and the easterly 34’ of Lot Five (5). The
Property is described as Lots 4, 5, and 6, Block 2, Ballards Cozy Bay First Addition. It should be noted that the
applicants have decided to withdraw their variance application.
With no further business Chaimnan Walter declared the meeting adjourned at 9:29 p.m.
