FIRST AID MEASURES Description of first aid measures Ingestion: Call physician or emergency number immediately. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by physician. Inhalation: Not applicable. Eye contact: Hold eye open and rinse slowly with water for 15 – 20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. If irritation develops, obtain medical assistance. Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. If irritation develops, obtain medical assistance. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed Ingestion of excessive quantities may cause muscle tremors, loss of hind limb use, or seizures. Advice to physician: If ingested, limit absorption by either emesis or gastric lavage. Sublethal symptoms, if present, would be the result of cerebral edema and should be treated accordingly through administration of an osmotic diuretic and corticosteroid.
