HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 04/03/1969·-- MINUTES OF JOINT MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL AND WILKIN COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to call, the Joint Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail and Wilkin Counties Minnesota met at 2:00 o'clock P.M. Thursday April 3, 1969, all members present. The Board having previously advertised for bids for aggregate base and bituminous surfacing of five miles of joint county road, Otter Tail County Project 56-611-05, proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Landsidel & Son, Inc. Soby Contractors, Inc. Noyes Paving Company Mark Sand & Gravel Minnesota Valley Improvement Co. C. L. Nelson & Co., Inc. S & S Constr. Co. W. Hogrnan & So. McGeary Bros., Inc. N. W. Surfacing Co. McLaughlin & Schulz $85,355.00 97,371.50 112,959.00 75,605.30 90,131.80 134,102.10 96,718.20 89,173.30 125,804.50 87,360.00 83,795.10 Motion was made by Bennie Johnson of Otter Tail, seconded by Harold Blankenship of Wilkin and unanimously carried to accept the bid of Mark Sand & Gravel in the amount of $75,605.30, it being the lowest bid, to be paid on a 50-50 basis between Otter Tail and Wilkin Counties. r 80 RESOLUTION OF WILKIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, Otter Tai I County by the Otter Tai I County Board of Commiss- ioners, and Wi I kin County by the Wi I kin County Board of Commissioners desire to construct a gravel base and bituminous surface on a county line road known and described as CSAH No. II by Otter Tail County, Minnesota, and as CSAH No. 21 by Wi I kin County, Minnesota and lying on a line between said counties, now therefore IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Wilkin County Board of Commissioners that Otter Tai I County Highway CSAH No. I!, Wi I kin County Highway CSAH No. 21, which is more particularjy described in the.specifications of the Otter Tai I County Engineer as Project·No. S.A.P. 56-611-05, and by~the engineer of Wi~kin County as S.A.P. 84-621-03, hereby be constructed as specified in the Specifications herein. 2. That preliminary engineering costs shal I be shared Fifty per cent (50%) by the County of Otter Tai I and Fifty per cent (50%) by the County of Wilkin between T.H. No. 94 at Rothsay and T.H. 108, 3. That the construction engineering is to be performed by the employ- ees of the Wilkin County Highway Department and the construction engineering costs and the construction costs between T.H. No. 94 and T.H. No. 108 are to be shared on a 50-50 basis, the County of Otter Tail paying fifty per cent (50%) thereof and the County of Wilkin paying Fifty per cent (50%) thereof. 4. That thetcontracts shal I be let as Breckenridge, Minnesota on Apri I 3, 1969, and both County Boards shall be present for the letting of said contract and the majority of each County Board must vote approval of said contract prior to acceptance thereof. 5. The maintenance costs on the county line roadway_ thereafter, except sea1 coat projectsorcothe~ major repairs, shal I be assumed by e~ch county on the following basis: A. A petition was read requesting county take-over of the towsship road between Norwegian Grove and Prairie View Townships, dividing Wilkin & Otter Tail Counties, five miles of road. Motion was made by Harold Blanken- ship, seconded by Bennie Johnson and unanimously carried to view said road at a ~jeint meeting of Wilkin and Otter Tail County Commissioners to be held at 9:00 d'clock A.M., June 2nd, at Highway #108 and the County Line.
