HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 03/12/1969WEDNESDAY'S SESSION Pursuant to adjournment, the Board met at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 12th, 1969, all members being present. A resolution asking for the dissolution of School District #1539 was read and it was ordered that a hearing on said petition be given at 10:00 o'clock A.M •• April 9th, 1900. and that due notice of time and place be given as required by law. Motion was made by Otto Haase, seconded by Andy Leitch, and carried, to approve the following applications to sell non-intoxicating malt liquors: Jerry Schultz Marvin Anderson Fred Dahlstrom Charles R. Evans Jerry Schultz Babe's Ballroom Ten Mile Lake Resort-- Mar. l 12 1 67 Perham Township Tumuli Township A plat of River View Lane accompanied by Attorney Elliott O. Boe's opinion as to title was approved by the County Board. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by John Snowberg, and carried, to allow up to $750.00 for the purchase of a copier and duplicator to be used by the Assessor's Office and the Nursing Service. Motion was made by Bennie Johnson, seconded by John Snowberg, and carried, to approve the followi~g applications for reduction in the assessed valuation of Real Estate: Maynard Voelkerding Robert DeJardine Joe Schneider State of Minn. Lot 39, Provan Beach, Dunn Lot 5, Beauty Bach Beach Dwin Township S½ NE¼ 28-133-43 N½ SW¼ & SW¼ NW¼ 33-133-37 Valued too high. Building removed two years ago part of property sold out resulting in double assess- ment Forfeited to State of Minn. exempt from tax roles. The following Homestead Classifications were approved: Vernon D. Forbes (Henry Fochrenbacher) N'ly 1 ac. of Lot 8 4-134-42 Elvin J. Spinar Julius Stabnow N½ NE¼ & N½ NW¼ 3-136-38 All of G.L. 6 S. of RR $/W ex. tr., line of Lot 6, then E. along S. line of Ry 725' then due S. to lakeshae then W along shore of lake to W line Lot, 6, then N. to beginning 1-132-40 The application of Wm. E. Kowalski, North Star Dairy, Village of Pelican Rapids, for reduction of assessed valuation of personal property, was approved in that the prpperty should have been exempt. Applications received from interested parties wanting to rent the living quarters at Phelps Mill were viewed, to be discussed further in April. €8 The following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, THAT WHEREAS this Board has received an application of Ralph H. Hendershot to repurchase the following tract: Beginning 8 rods North of Southeast corner SE¼ SE¼, W 20 rods, N 40 rods, E 20 rods, S 40 rods to beginning. Section 19 -134 -37. which has been forfeited to the State of Minnesota for non-payment of taxes. Permission to do so will be to the best public interest and relieve undue hardship. Dated at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 11th day of March, 1969. ~lerk Chairm~~ ATTEST: 69 The Veterans Service Screening Committee appeared before the Board presenting their three candidates one of which is to be selected as Veteran's Service Officer. After interviewing the various individuals a secret ballot was taken with Marvin Klicker of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota receiving the appoint= ment. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Bennie Johnson, and carried, for County Treasurer to invest money available, at his discretion until April meeting.
