HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 03/07/1969MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to call, the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail Cowity Minnesta met at 9;30 A.M. o'clock, March 7th, 1969, all members being present. The Aurdal Town Board with their attorney, Charles Satterlee, appeared before the Board for the purpose of reviewing the Aurdal bridge situation. Bridge contractor, Charles Ack ling of Breckenridge was also·. present. The Cowity Auditor was authorized to re~advertise for bids to be opened 11:00 A.M., April 8, 1969, for the repair of said bridge. \ l There bei.ng no further business, the Board adjourned to 10 :00 A.M., March 11th, 1969. The Board having previously advertised for bids for three 27,500 GVW .dump trucks proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Bidder Truck #1 Truck #2 Truck #3 International Harvester, Fergus Falls $6,700.00 $6,600.00 $6,550.00 Fergus Dodge, Fergus Falls 7,183.00 7,198.00 1;098.00 Stan's Garage, Battle Lake 7,595.00 7,650.00 ,'7 ,625 .oo 7,859.50 7,489.50 7,389.50 Super GMC, Fergus Falls_ Uselman's, Inc~, Wadena $23,130.00, net, all three Motion was made by Otto Haase, seconded by Bennie Johnson, and carried to accept the bid of International Harvester of Fergus Falls, it being the lowest bid, in the amount of $19 ; 850. 00 total. The Board having previously advertised for bids for one pick-up, proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Bidder Fergus Dodge, Fergus Falls Minnesota Motor, Fergus Falls Super GMC, Fergus Falls Stan's Garage, Battle Lake Uselman's, Inc., Wadena Price $1,433.00 1,545.00 1,675.65 1,931.72 2,240.00 Motion was made by Andy Leithh, seconded by John Snowberg, and carried to accept the bid of Fergus· Dodge of Fergus Fall; in the amount of $1,433.00, it being the lowest bid. 64 ; .. The Board having previously advertised for bids for Aggregate Base and Road-Mixed Bmtuminous Surf ace, proceeded to q:,en bids which ·w,ere found to be as follows: Bidder Amount Mark Sand & Gravel $369, 793 J98 W. Hodgman & Sons 376,351.90 Landseidal & Sons, Inc. 380,040.00 McLaughlin & Schultz 386,938.70 Soby Construction, Inc. ~9,941.00 Motion was made by Bennie Johnson, seconded by Andy Leitch, and carried, to accept the bid of Mark Sand & Gravel in the amount of $369,793.90 it being the lowest bid. 65 Motion was made by Bennie Johnson, seconded by Otto Haase, and carried, that whoever wishes to attend the Legislative Conference at Thief River Falls, March 14th, should do so, with at least three in attendance. Motion was made by Bennie Johnson, seconded by John Snowberg, that whoever can attend the March 19th meeting with the Legislators and Senator from Otter Tail County at Saint Paul should do so, carried ooani.mous. A letter fromJudge Rosengren was presented to the Board requesting adequate space for the new Commissioner of Adult Corrections. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Andy Leitch, and carried, that when space becomes available the Board will consider. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Bennie Johnson, and carried, to approve liability insurance coverage with the Mathison Insurance Agency, recommending the anniversary date be changed to a later date to comply with the date of the financial statement 'of the Highway Engineer. Jared Smalley appeared before the Board and reported on meetings held on Manpower Survey. Motion was made by Bennie Johnson, seconded by John Snowberg, and carried, to approve $1,500 toward the Manpower Survey. Andy _Leitch voting no.
