Home My WebLink AboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 04/20/1982MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County met at l :00 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 1982, with all members present. The matter of acceptance or rejection of bids received for the storage building to be used by the sheriff's department was brought up for final action. After considerable discussion, motion was made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by Van Ellig and carried, to accept the.bid of Lampert Quality Builders, Fergus Falls, MN ih the amount-:6f $11 ;250.00, b~ing the lowest bid. Upon motion made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Andy Leitch and car- ried, the County Auditor was authorized to pay Wilkin County the sum of $2,408.96 representing Otter Tail County's share of repairs and construction of Otter Tail - Wilkin Joint County Ditch #2. Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Van Ellig and carried, to approve payment in the amount of $768.57 for 150 veteran bronze-marker heads and brass rods. Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by Van Ellig and carried, to make a request of the Department of Natural Resources to improve the public access on County State Aid Highway #35 on the east end of West Lost Lake. Upon recommendation of the County Health, motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by Van Ellig and carried, to issue an otder tci abate .a nuisance situation to Leonard Hendrickson, Vergas, MN, concerning his cattle watering facility located in Sectiori 20 of Dora Township. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Van Ellig and carried, to approve the application of Ben J. Zacher for license to sell wine at the Fisherman"s Wharf in Everts Township~ Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Bert Hovland and car- ried, to approve the application of Ben J. Zacher for permit to allow consumption and display of intoxicating liquor at the Fisherman's Wharf in Everts Township. Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by Hub Nordgren and car- ried, with Van Ellig and Bert Hovland voting "no", to authorize the Motor Vehicle Department to obtain three quotations for the purchase of either a used, or an inexpensive copy machine. Don Ashworth of Mark Sand & Gravel appeared before the Board relative to the gravel tax imposed on Mark Sand & Gravel, protesting certain portions of the gravel tax assessed to Mark Sand & Gravel. with no change by the Board from previous· meeting in March. After considerable discussion, motion was made by Van Ellig, seconded by Hub Nordgren and carried, to approve payment of the balance due to Mark Sand & Gravel for various surfacing projects for the county.parking lots, etc .. Pursuant to ndtice, and in accordance with Minn. Laws.of 1977, Chapter 106.465, the hearing on the viewers report for County Ditch #12 was held with various· interested parties 9ein_g heard. After considera5le dis.,. cussion, the following resolution was adopted, upon motion made by Bert Hovland, seconded 5y Hub Nordgren and carried with Van Elli g voting "no": RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS, vi ewers were appointed for the purpose of redetermination of the beneffts of County Ditch #12, and WHEREAS the determination of benefits has now been completed by such appointed viewers and proper hearing held, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the County Board does hereby approve the redetermination of benefits of County Ditch #12, as established by said viewers, and on file in the office of the County Auditor. NOW, THEREFORE, _BE IT _RE~OLVED, the County Boa rd does hereby approve the redetermination of benefits of County Ditch #21 as established by said viewers, and on file in the office of the County Audttor.
