HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 01/23/1979MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota met at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 23, 1979, A. Hubert Nordgren absent because of attending a hearing in Saint Paul. The Board, _having previously advertised for bids to be received for S.P. No. 56-652-03, proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Ehrp Construction Co., Chokio, Minnesota Landwehr Heavy Moving, Inc., Saint Cloud, Minnesota Riley Bros., Morris, Minnesota. Gladen Construction Co., Laporte, Minnesota A. R. Brisk Co. , Pierz, Minnesota , Delzer Construction Co., Dalton, Minnesota Ack ling Construction Co., Frazee, M.nnesota Dwire, Inc., Marshall, Minnesota Sellin Bros., Hawley, Minnesota $59,575.48 60,561.50 66,149.00 70,188.00 72,050.00 73,026.00 73,342.00 80,860.00 80,866.00 AFter consideration, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Andy Leitch and carried, to award the contract to Ehrp Construction Co., Chokfuo, Minnesota, it being the lowest bid, in the 'amount of $59,575.48. The Board, having previously adverti_sed for bids to be received for two walk-in van type vehicles for use by the County Highway Department, proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Minnesota Motor Company, Fergus Falls, Minnesota Fergus Dodge, Fergus Falls, Minnesota Super GMC Truck Sales, Inc., Fergus Falls, Minnesota $15,179.50 15,975.00 16,189.70 AFter consideration, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Sydney Nelson and carried, to accept the bid of Minnesota Motor Company, in the amount of $15,179.50, it being the lowest bid. Upon motion made by Andy_L~itch, seconded by John Snowberg and carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS, in accordance with a Procedural Agreement between the Minnesota Deparment of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, dated May 23, 1962, certification by the County Board of Commissioners for ac- quisition of lands by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is requested, and WHEREAS representatives of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have met with the Board of Commissioners of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, on January 23, 1979, and informed the Commissioners that a waterfowl easement has been secured from Norman Nelson on the SW¼ SW1/4 of Section 17 -al32 -41, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED said Board does hereby approve the above request for waterfowl easement by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Dated at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 23rd day of January, 1979. Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Andy Leitch and carried, to approve the plat of Madson's Prairie Lake Beach, located in Section 10 - 136 -43. Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by Bert Hovland and carried, to approve an application of Dennis D. Mccurdy for special use permit to i~crease his resort located on Dead Lake from for recreational units to eight, sub- ject to conditional requirements. Motion was made by Andy Lei t_ch, · seconded by Bert Hovland and· carried, to authorize a hearing for the purpose of amending the shoreland manage- ment ordinance. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Bert Hovland and carried, to place all delinquent 1978 personal property and mobile home truces into judgment, and the following report of the County Board of the County a Otter Tail, State of Minnesota, of uncollected personal property taxes for the year 1978: Fergus Falls, Minnesota, January 23, 1979 BE IT KNOWN, That the County Board of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, did meet in session on the 23rd day of January, 1979, that at said session the County Treasurer of the said County delivered to said Board the list of uncollected personal property taxes for the year 1978, together with his certificate thereon as required by law; and that at said session the said Board did duly consider said list of uncollected truces, and did cancel such taxes as they are satisfied cannot be collected. That the following is a crrect list of said uncollected personal property truces in said County for said year of 1977, so as revised by said Board, and that the Clerk of District Court is ordered to issue citations thereon, to-wit::. WHEREAS the above automobile has now been delivered to the satisfaction of the County Board, NOW, 'IHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the County Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant in the amount of $7,436.80 payable to Fergus Dodge, Inc., Fergus Falls, Minnesota in full payment thereof.
