HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 09/19/1978MINUTES-OF 11IE ADJOURNED MEETING OF Tiffi BOARD OF COUNTY' COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjoumment, the Board of County Connnissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota met at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 19, 1978, all members present. The Board, having previously advertised for bids for rock salt, proceeded to open bids which were fotmd to be as follows: Diamond Crystal Salt Company, St. Clair, Michigan Cargill Salt, Minneapolis, Minnesota $27.76 26. 71 26.71 26.18 25.34 Pelican Rapids Perham Fergus Falls Henning Parkers Prairie 27.96 Otter Tail Cotmty After consideration, motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by John Snowberg and carried, to accept the bid of Diamond Crystal Salt Company, St. Clair, Michigan, it being the lowest bid. The Board, having previously advertised for bids to be received for a 4-wheel drive ;;wagon:h for use by the Highway Department, proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Fergus Dodge, Inc. , Fergus Falls, Minnesota Super GMC Truck Sales, Fergus Falls, Minnesota Helle International, Inc., Fergus Falls, Minnesota $7,436.80 7,898.45 7,628.28 After consideration, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Andy Leitch and unanimously carried, to aeceptthe bid of Fergus Dodge, Inc., Fergus Falls, Minnesota in the amount of $7,436.80, it being the lowest bid. The Board, having previously advertised for bids to be received for \,' ,. Grading, Bituminous Surfacing and Aggregate.shouldering, under SAP S6-652~02, pro- ceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Muk Sand & Gravel Co., Fergus Falls; Minnesota Duininck Bros. & Gilchrist, Prinsburg, Min~esota S & S Construction Company, Moorhead, Minnesota . $535,054.00 586,149.50 607,356.00 Motion was made_by Bert Hovland, seconded by John Snowberg and carried, to table acceptance of bids for further study. Upon motion made by John Snowberg, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS space now occupied by the Otter Tail County Nursing Service in the courthouse in the City of Fergus Falls i.s going to be needed for the Countr Attomer, and WHEREAS the Nursing Service has acquired space in the U.S. Post Office Building in the City of Fergus Falls for their offices at a rent fee of $367 .oo per month, in advance, NOW, fflEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Chairman of the Board of Cotmty Commissioners is hereby authorized and directed to sign the lease agreement with the United States Postal Service for space in the U. s. Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by John Snowberg and· 1.D'lani- mously carried, to approve the plat of Sterling Heights, location in Section 6 -136 - 39. Motion was made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by Andy Leitch and carried, to increase the compensation of Board of Adjustment members to $20.00 per diem. Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded byAndy Leitch and carried, to approve an2 application of Terrance & Jean C. Galbrecht for reduction of assessed valuation on property in Newcomb's Add!n, Perham City, which was overvalued. Upon motion made by John Snowberg, seconded by Sydney Nelson and carried, the Col.D'lty Auditor was authorized .to advertise for applications to be received for Building Code Administrator.· , There being no further business, the Chairman declared the meeting adjoumed 1.D'ltil 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 10, 1978.
