HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 06/13/1977MINUTE OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING _ OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota met at ~:30 A.M., Monday, June 13, 1977, all members present. Upon motion.made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by BertHovland and unani- mously carried, approval was given to D.S. Amundson for the transfer of a metes and bounds description parcel, located in SE¼ NW¼ of Section 17 -135 37. Motion was made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by Bert Hovland and unani- mously carried, to authorize the County Auditor to advertise for bids to be received until 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 1, 1977, for the purchase or lease of a data processing system, with trade-in of present equipment. John Scott, Att'y, and Ray Knickrehm, Clerk, Butler Township appeared before the Board relative to a road problem in the Township, on the proposed con- struction and bituminous surfacing of a township road. Motion was made by Sydney Nelson, seconded by John Snowberg and unani- mously carried, to request a written resolution from a township board prior to commit- ment by the county board of the 40% cost participation of bituminous surfacing. The Board, having previously advertised for bids to be received for the construction ot Bridge.No. 56522, S.P. 56~599-01, proceeded to open bids which were found to be as follows: Korby Contracting Company-, Fergus Falls, Minnesota Swingen Const. Co., Grand Forks, North Dakota Herbison Bridge Company, Minneapolis, Minne~ota $99,030.50 120,201.30 120,485.60 After consideration, motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by John Snowberg and unanimously carried, to accept the bid of Korby Contracting Co., Fergus Falls, Minnesota in the amount of $99,030. SO. Because of an absence caused by the death of County Auditor K. w. Hanson, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Bert Hovland and carried to appoint Sylvia Bergerud recording secretary for the County Board. i Motion was made by JOhn Snowberg, seconded by Hub Nordgren and I I carried, to consider the appointment of a County A~ditor to fill the unexpired I ' term of Ken Hanson, at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 11~ 1977. The bid of Dieseth Specialties in the amount of $80,000.00 for purchase of the county garage property in the City of Fergus Falls was taken up for final action. Upon motion made by Andy Leitch, seconded by John Snowberg, Andy Leitch, John Snowberg and Bert Hovland voting "yes" and Sydney Nelson and Hub Nordgren voting "no", the bid of Dieseth Specialties, Fergus F~ps, Minnesota in the amount of $80,000 was accepted. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Sydney Nelson, ~aio contribute $1,500 to the Office of Economic Opportunities in the City of New York Mills, for rent supplements, Sydney Nelson and JOhn Snowberg voting "yes", Hub Nordgren, Andy Leitch and Bert Hovland voting ''no", motion failed. Upon motion made by Hub -Nordgren, seconded by Bert Hovland and unani- -. mously carried, the following applications for permit to allow consumption and dis- play of intoxicating liquor were approved: The Stone Hearth Hobart Township George W. Frankberg Gary Boldenow, Pres. Pebble Lake Golf Club, Inc. Buse Township Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Sydney Nelson and unanimously carried, to deny the request of $9,000 from Region IV, because of the fact Region IV can levy funds by themselves and the county is under a limitation. M_otion(1wasn made by Andy Leitch, seconded by John Snowberg and unani- mously carried, authorizing the County Auditor to.advertise.for bids to be received until 2:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday, July 19; 1977 for the NW¼ SW1/4, except E 200'; SW¼ NW)A, ex. the E 200'; all in Section 25 -133 -43; and Sublots 1, 2 and 3 of Subdi- vision A of the NE¼ SE¼ of Section 26 -133 -43, and except a triangular tract in SW¼ NW¼.of Section 25-133-43, lying west of County Highway No. 111. Upon motion made by John Snowberg, seconded by Hub Nordgren,and unani- mously carried, the County Auditor was authorized to advertise for bids to:be. received until 2: 00 o'clock P .M. , Tuesday, July 19, 1977 for the NW¼ NE¼ of Section 32 -134 - 40, except tracts and highway easement. Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by John Snowberg and unanimously carried, to close the Court House from the hours of 10:00 A;M., to 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, JW1e 15th, 1977, for the funeral of K. W. Hanson, County Auditor. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Sydney Nelson and W1ani- mously. carried, to instruct the county atto_rney ·to prepare an ordinance prohibi ttng alcoholic beverages in the Phelps Mill Park.
