HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 06/22/1976MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE Board of County Commissioners Otter Tail County Minnesota Pursuant to adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners met.at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, J.lme 22, 1976, Bert Hovland absent. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by George Walter and carried, Andy Leitch voting "no", toi.contribute $1,500 to the Community ·Action Council for the year 1976 for rent and upkeep of quarters. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by JohnsSnowberg and unani- mously carried, that the Chairman oftthe Board and the Director of the Public Health Nursing Service form an Otter Tail Comtty "Flu Committee", as requested by the Minnesota Department of Health. '\ The Board, having previously advertised for the sale of the County Garage location in Pelican Rapids, proceeded to open bids which were found'to be as follows: Hohman Telephone Company, Pelican Rapids·; Minn. $8,000.00 After consideration, motion was made by George.Walter, seconded by John Snowberg and carried, to accept the bid:0of Hohman Telephone Company, . \ Pelican Rapids, in the amount of $8,000. 00.; with the stipulation the lease with the Stat'e Highway. Department be continued and money from the lease agreement after July 1, 1976 be delivered to Hohman Telephone Company. Motion was made by Andy .. Leitch, seconded by George Walter and m1ani- mous ly carried, to accept the proposal of Knutson Heating and Air Conditioning. Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to air condition the northeast corner o'f 1tfie upper floor of the court house at a cost of $2,765.00, not including wiring·~(; After interviewing the various applicants for' the position of West Otter Tail Comtty Agricultural Inspector, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by George Walter.and unanimously carried, to hire Gordon Bjoralt, Rothsay, Minnesota, as West Otter Tail Cotmty Agricultural Inspector. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to abate and refund all 1976 assessments on County Ditch #63 with the understanding that Richard Dillon and Theo. Hegseth, Jr. voluntarj.ly agreed to pay the costs of $336.00 accrued for the work that was ·done. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Andy Leitch and-'Ullani- iliously carried, to approve the following applications for sewage disposal installers license: David Wagner Walter Berend & Sherman Tank Company Clinton Fletcher LeRoy Kahle Kahle Plumbing & Heating Brandon, Minnesota Vergas, Minnesota Detroit Lakes. Upon motion made by John Snowberg, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: · RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that · WHEREAS the. County Board, on July 22~-1975,~ awarded the bid for construction of Bridge Nos. 56520 & 56521, undel'. S.A.P. 56-601-,07, to Structural Specialties, Inc., Hutchinson, Minnesota in the amount of $152,264.40, and WHEREAS the above contract has now been completed to the s.atis- faction of the Board at a total cost of $135,153.25, a:decrease of $17,111.15· due to the elimination of two items -Conduit System Type C and the Water Main System, NOW, THEREFORE, the County Auditor is hereby authorized and. directed to issue a warrant in the amount of $3,021.60 payable to Structural Specialties Inc., Hutchinson, Minnesota as final payment for this work. Upon motion made by George Walter,. seconded by Hub Nordgren and wtanimously carried, the Chairman of the Board was authorized to sign the abandoned motor vehicle permit. ·.
