HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 11/25/1975MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA The Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota met at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 25th, 1975, all members present. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, to grant special aid in the amount of $200.00 to Candor Township to be used in Section 17. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Bert Hovland and unanimously carried, to grant special aid in the amount of $200.00 to Homestead Township to be used between Sections 29 and 32. Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, to approve the following applications for homestead classi- fication and/or reduction of assessed valuation: Wayne Tabbut Robert Harthun Elmer Hoglund Aurdal Township Aurdal Township Otter Tail Township Homestead classification Homestead classification 135' of lakeshore assessed as 150' Motion was made by Hub Nordgren,.seconded by Andy Leitch and unani- mously carried, to approve the conveyance, for Duane Glass, of parcels A, B & D in Government Lot 1, Section 21 -134 -38 upon receipt of a completed survey. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Bert Hovland and . unanimously carried, to grant approval of a Sunday liquor license for "Some Place Else" in Perham Township. Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Andy Leitch and unani- mously carried, to appoint Raymond Sandberg as West.Otter Tail County Agricultural Inspector. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Bert Hovland and unanimously carried, to approve final payment for Allied Blacktop Company and the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail Comity Minnesota, that WHEREAS on May 6, 1975, the bid for sand sealing. county wide, was awarded to Allied Blacktop Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota in the amount of $293.780.00, and WHEREAS the.above contract has now been completed to the satis- faction of the county board at a total cost of $271,592.85, a decrease of $22, l87 .15, due mainly to the fact that less. cubic yards of seal coat aggregate were needed, . NOW, TI-IEREFORE, the comity auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant· in the ainomt ~f '$27, 220 .. 31 payable t~ Allied Blacktop Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota as final payment for. this work. Clerk Upon motion made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Andy Leitch and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS, on March 4, 1975 the bid for mowing Area A in Otter Tail County was awarded to Phillip McGrand, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota in the amount of $8,039.83, and WHEREAS the above contract has now been completed to the satis- faction of the county board at a total cost of $7,450.73, a decrease of $589.10 due to a deduction of shoulder cut and mowing, and construction work and liquidated damages, NOW, THEREFORE, the County Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant in the amount .of .$421.07 payable to Phillip McGrand, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota as final payment for this work. Chai Clerk Upon motion made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by Bert Hovland and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that THE COUNTY BOARD does hereby grant approval of a community center for Parkers Prairie to be used by senior citizens, youth, day activity center, etc., to be established under an H.U.D. grant, as a Community Devel- . opment Project. Dated at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 25th day of November, 1975. Clerk The Board, having previously advertised for bids to be received for a van to be used by the Probation and· Parole Department, proceeded to open bids which were found to be. as follows: Fergus Dodge, Inc., Fergus Falls, Minn. Art Christianson Ford, Pelican Rapids, Minn. $5,775.00 45 -75 day delivery 6,949.05 Delivery, Dec. 5 6,991.00 -Immediate delivery After consideration, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Andy Leitch and carried, to accept the bid of Minnesota Motors, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, in the amount of $6,949.05, for delivery December 5th. Rebuild road (subject to conditional requirements) Cut hills and fill low area Construct new residence with old residence to be rental property Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve· a sewage disposal installers· license for Marvin Pederson & Sons, Erhard, Minnesota. Motion was made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, to approve the conveyance of two rental cottages by dividing land·into two lots with a cottage on each lot, on the condition Mr. Lamont provides the county with a survey map and no further buildings to be erected on the property. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by George Walter and unani- mously carried, to grant an extended leave of absence for a period not to exceed six months, beginning September 19, 1975, for sickness and without pay, to Orris Widness, employee in the County Highway Department. I Upon motion made by George Walter, _seconded by Hub Nordgren and carried, the plat of Chuck;ts-.-North Shore View First Add 'n, located in Dora Township, was approved. Upon motion made by George Walter, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, Jeff Tikkanen and Duane Donley were appointed as·regular member and alternate, respectively, of the East Otter Tail Soil and Water Con- servation District for the calendar year 1976. Upon motion made by_George Walter, seconded by Andy Leitch and unanimously carried, the application of Donald Firnhaber for permit to allow consumption and display of intoxicating liquor at Perry's in Dora Township was approved. Upon motion made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, the· following preliminary plats were approve·d: Dahl -Jones Subdivision Darr's Subdivision Larsen's Minasha-da Subdivision Kvare North Acres Schepper's Add'n Section 5 -Dunn Township Section 12 -Amor Township Section 34 -Dead Lake Township Section 13 -Scambler Township Section 22 -Perham Township There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned until 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 9th, 1975. · Clerk
