Motion was made by Bert Hovland, se·conded by -George Walter and unanimously carried, to purc~ase one hundred (100) copies of the Otter Tail County Rural Directory for 1975. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by George Walter and ' ' unanimously carried, authorizing the county coroner to proceed with acquiring a refrigeration unit for a morgue for Otter Tail County, at a cost of between $6,000 and $7,500. C ATTEST:~ Clerk Upon motion made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, -the_ following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of t~e County of Otter Tail, State of Minnesota, has received a petition now on file in the office of its auditor praying for the establishment of a sanitary sewer dis- trict,' said district.to be named the Otter Tail Lake Area Sewer District, in accordance with the provisions of M.S.A. Chapter 116A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that Ulteig Engineers, . Fargo, North Dakota,. be and the same hereby appointed engineers for the pro- ceedingsas provided in M. S. A. 116A. 06 Subd. 1. , prc;,vided that said engineer shall take and subscribe an oath and give said County Board a bond in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($s;ooo.oo) with good and sufficient surety payable to said County as provided in M.S.A. 116A_.06, Sub. 2., ALSO BE IT RESOLVED there is to be no financial obligatd!on .. by Ot:t·er Tail County. Cha ATTEST: Clerk Upon motion made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissinner_s of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS, under the terms of the Water Pollution Control Act, (33 U.S.C. 446 et se~.), the United States of America has authorized the making of grants to authorized applicants to aid in the construction of specific public projects, NOW, THEREFORE~ Be it hereby resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail _County Minnesota, that 1. K. W. Hanson, County Auditor, be and he is hereby authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota with the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, United States Government, for a grant to aid in the construction of the Otter Tail ·Lake Area Sewer Distribution System, 2. That K. W. Hanson, County Auditor of Otter Tail County Minnesota be and he is hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the United States Federal Environmental Protection AGency may reasonably re- quest in connection with the application.which is herein authorized to be filed, to sign all necessary documents, and, on behalf -of caw, to accept grant offer and receive payment of grant funds, Dated at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 20th day of August, 1975. Clerk :Upon motion made by Bert Hovland, seconded by Andy Leitch and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Otter Tail County is informed that an effort is being made and renewed by the Cormorant Lake Water- shed District or by persons on its behalf to release excess water into Pelican Lake, and WHEREAS, Pelican Lake is already experiencing serious problems due to high water in that lake, and WHEREAS, any dumping of any water will cause irre~able damage to the properties on and around Pelican.Lake and to those downstream on Lake Lizzie and Prairie Lake, and WHEREAS, the water quality in the Pelican chain would be adversely affected by any dumping, and WHEREAS, the dumping would cause damage to county and state highways in Otter Tail, and . WHEREAS, any dumping involves the risk of intro.ducing. excessive rough fish into the Pelican chain, and WHEREAS, the solution of any problems experienced by Cormorant Lake in this manner would only move the problems downstream and would be no solution, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the County of Otter Tail is strongly opposed to any releasing of water from Cormorant Lake into Pelican Lake and the Pelican River. Adopted at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 20th day of August, 1975. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Hub Nordgren and . carried, to oppose the application by West Central Regional Development Commission· for a $23,269.00 grant for Proje~t Dental Educare, George Walter and John Snowberg voting "no".
