HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 02/25/1975MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA I Pursuant to adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota met at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday,. February 25th, 1975, all members present. Motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to re-appoint Harriet Thoreson as a-continuing member to the Otter Tail County Welfare Board for a two year term, expiring July 4, 1977. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Bert Hovland and unanimously carried, authorizing Judge Elliot Boe mileage and expense to attend the national conference of Juvenile Court Judges to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Motion was made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, authorizing Highway Engineer Dennis Berend mileage and expense to attend the annual meeting of the Mississippi Valley Conference_ in Chicago, Illinois. The Board, having prevously advertised for bids to be received· for a vibratory rqller to be used by the Highway Department, proceeded to open bids which were found to be.as follows: Ruffridge-Johnson Equipment Co., Inc., Minneapolis, Minn. General Diesel & Equipment Co., Inc., Fargo, North Dakota $5,985.00 8,500.00 Upon motion made by Andy Le_i tch, seconded by Bert Hovland and unanimously carried, -the bid of Ruffridge-:Johnson Equipment Co.,' INc., Minneapolis, Minnesota was accepted in the_ amount o,f $5,985.00, it being the lowest bid. \' Upon motion made by Andy Leitch, seconded by·GeorgeValter and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by .the Board of:County Commissioners of Otter·Tail · . County Minnesota, that WHEREAS the county nursing committee members meet diligently each month without compen~ation for time involved, NOW, THEREFORE; be it hereby resolved the county nursing . . board members, excludingprofessional mernhers,receive a per-diem compensation _of $10.00 per meeting. County is in favor of an increase in the gas tax, if it is placed into .. the Highway Users Fund and not spent for othermodes of transportation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board ofiCounty Comm.is- ,· sioners is in favor of raising the gas tax at least· 2¢ per gallon.
