OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjournment~ ·the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota met'at 9:30 A.M., Tue~day, ·February 12th, 1974, all members present. Motion· was made by Hub, Nordgren, seconded by John Snowbe.rg and unani-. mously carried, to· purchase a $1,000,000 umbrella policy to be attached. to ·the present A.G.C. policy. The Board, havi.ng previously advertised for bids to be received for two pickup trucks to be .. used by the County Highway Department; proceeded to open bids , which were found to be as follows: Fergus Do_dge, Fe_rgus Falls, Minnesota Minnesota Motor Co., Fergus Falls, Minnesota Stan's Ford Garage, Battle Lake, Minnesota Super G.M.C., Fe.rgus Falls, Minnesota Vaughn Chevrolet Co., New York Mills, Minnesota Unit #1 $2,4,33.80 2,799.48 3,145.00 3,175.00 3,340.47 Unit.#2 $2,503.80 2,866.48 2,995.00 3,000.00 3,190.47 After consideration, motion was made by John Snowberg, seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, to accept the bids of Fergus Dodge, Fergus Falls, Minnesota> in the amounts of $2,433.80 and $2,503.80, being the lowest bids. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, to accept the bid~~ Stan's Garage, Battle Lake, for unit #2 in the amount of $9,725.00, it being the lowest bid. Jim Dahman of.the Economic Development Commission appeared before the Board and reviewed with the Board Tax Increment ·Financing. Bob Bruns appeared before' the Board and reviewed Channel.#2 TV. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Richard Dill>n and unani- mously carried, to submit the name_ of Mrs. Russel Jedlund for approval by the State of Minnesota Department of Public Welfare . as a member of the county welfare board. Hanson, County Auditor County of OTTER TAIL RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAYS WHEREAS, it appears to the County ·Board of the County of Otter Tail that the road hereinafter described should be designated a County State Aid Highway under the provisions _of Minnesota Laws of 1967, Chapter 162: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,· by the County Board -of the County of Otter Tai 1 · that the road described as_ fol lows, to-:wit: Commence at the iritersection of Main Avenue and Oak Street in the Village of Clitherall, thence so~therly on Oak Street S50 feet to the point of beginning, thence continue southerly on a prcilongation of the above described· line to its inter~ection of T.H. #210, and there terminatingr be, and hereby is established, located and designatid a County State Aid Highway of said County, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Minnesota. Upon motion made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Highw~y U~er Fund has insuffici~nt funds t6 meet all the construction need~, and WHEREAS, the Highway User Fund is divided 62% for Trunk Highways, 29% for County State Aid Highways, and 9% fof Municipal State Aid High~ ways, and WHEREAS, w~ think this is a very fair distribution of the High~ way User Fund, and WHEREAS, this county needs many mill ion dollars worth of funds f6r the. reconstruction of the County St~te Aid Highway System, and WHEREAS, many of our'roads are only constructed to 4 ton and 5 ton levefs, and WHEREAS, becaus~ of consolidation of scho6ls, milk hauling and· ga~bage hauling, it will be necessary to upgrade our roads, irid WHEREAS, any study to be made of t~e present distribution of the Highway User Fund would disrupt the future construction of r6ads.
