HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 11/14/1973MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjournment, the Boa.rd of County Commissicners of Otter Tail County met at 8:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 14th, 1973, all members present. Motion was made by Richard Dillon. seconded by Hub Nordgren and carried, to authorize 1/2 section maps for Big Pine Lake and Little Pine Lake encompassing parts of Corliss,Gorma:n, Perham and Pine Lake Townships. Motion was made by Richard Oil lqn •. seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve the bond for Nancy Pennings, Secretary-Clerk, County Treasurer's office. in the amount of $1,000 with Integrity J\futua.l Insurance Company. The matter of the bids for steel posts opened November 6th at 11: 00 A. M.. was brought .up for final action. Upon motion made by Hub Nordgren. seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, the bid of Pa.per. Ca.lmenson & Co., Sa.int Paul, Minnesota was accepted in the a.mount of $11,875.00, it being the lowest bid. In an effort to comply with Federal requests for conservation of fuel, motion was made by Hub Nordgren, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, authorizi.ng the CoW1ty Auditor to take necessary steps to repair inner- vestibule doors, weather-proof and repair outside doors and where feasible, lock and seal outer doorsnot necessary for entrance to court house. Motion was made by Geo_rge Walter. seconded by Hub Nordgren and carried, to accept the completion of county road work by Mark Sand & Gravel Co. Fergus Falls, Minnesota on County State ;\id Highways #4. 10. 14. 16. 24. 38, 46 and 52. Upon motion made by Richard Dillon. seconded by Geo_rge Walter and W1animously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS the County Board, on February 13, 1973 accepted .the bid of Mark Sand & Gravel Company, Fergus Falls, Minnesota for Aggregate Base and Road Mix Bituminous Surfacing on C.S.A.H. Nois 21, 55, 56 and 76, in the amow1t of $244,594.40, and WHEREAS the above contract has now been completed to the satis- faction of the CoW1ty Board at a total cost of $243,993.58, a decrease of $600.82 due to normal variation, NOW, THEREFORE the County Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant. in the amount of $29. 504. 36 payable to the Mark Sand & Gravel Company, Fergus Falls, Minnesota as final payment for this work. Dated at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 14th day of November, 1973. c~~ ATTEST:~ Clerk Upon motion made by John Snowberg, seconded by Hub Nordgren and unanimously carried, the followi_ng resolution was adopted: RESOLVED-by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS the County Board, on February 13, 1973, accepted the bid of Mark Sand & Grave1 ·Company, Fergus Falls, Minnesota:, in the amount of $217,670.70 for Road Mix Bituminous Surfacing on C.S.A.H. No's 4, 10, 14, 16, 24, 38, 46 and 52, and WHEREAS the above contract has now been completed to the satis- faction of the County Board at totaL cost of $221,851.29, an increase of $4,180.59 due to the need for additional bituminous mixture and aggregate. NOW, THEREFORE the County Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a a Wc .. rrant in the amount of $31,594.76 payable to the Mark Sand•& Gravel Company, Fergus Falls, Minnesota as final payment for this work. Dated at Fergus Falls, Minnesota this 14th day of November, 1973.
