HomeMy WebLinkAboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 05/18/1972T MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTTER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to adjournment, the Board of County Commissioners met on i Thursday, May 18th, 1972, at 10:30 A.M., all members present. A delegation from the Perham area t_ogether with a representative from the Central !Binnesota Irrigation Corporation appeared before the Board rela- tive to irrigation wells. The County Assessor explained his position and _agreed to meet with the Association at their June lot meeting at Vernadale, Minnesota. Frank Hammer, Pres. of the Chamber of Commerce, Al Holm, Villag~.' Administrator and Chief H. Lubitz, all from the ViUage of Perham, appeared before· the Board concerning the new County Court System as it applies to the ViUage of Perham. Judge Polkinghorn was ~alled upon to explain the plan expected to be used. Upon motion-made by Ric~ard Dillon, seconded by Andy Leitch and carried, the County Highway E_ngineer and the Board Chairman were authori'z_eq to attend the National Convention of Highway Engineers. Upon motion made by George Walter, seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, the following applications for license to sell non-intoxicating malt liquor were approved: Mrs. Bertha Moltzan Russell I. Pederson Birch Resort Bay View Resort Candor Township Star Lake Township Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Richard Dillon and carried, to accept the proposal of Stenerson Bros. Lwnber Co._ for acoustical ceiling to be installed in the Veterans Service office. Upon motion made by .. George Walter , seconded by -----'------------ Richard Dillon -----------------and unanimously carried, the following resolu- tion was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS the sum of $1,050.34 has been credited to the Private Redemption Fund prior to January l, 1938, and WHEREAS owners of saJd moneys cannot be located, or have failed to claim said funds dte them NOW, THEREFORE be it hereby resolved that the sum,-of $1,050.34 be transferred from the Private Redemption Fund to· the County Revenue Fund. Adopted at Fe_rgus Falls, Minnesota this 18th day of May , 1972. --~------ ATTEST~ Clerk Upon motion made by Andy Leitch , seconded by ---------------· ____ G_e_o_r~g_e_W_a_lt_e_r ______ and unanimously carried, the following resolu- tion was adopted: WHEREAS the County School Transportation Tax Fund was heretofore established for the payment of non-resident secondary school-transportation·costs, and WHEREAS prior to the enactment of Laws of 1965, the tax levy for such purposes was levied upon the entire county, NOW, THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved that the sum of $13,623.00, representing the fund balance remaini_ng undistributed under these county-wide tax levies, be hereby transferred from the County School Transportation Tax Fund to the County Revenue Fund. Construction, Fe_rgus Falls, Minnesota be awarded the contract for general construction in the amount of $300,810~00; MoUerud Electric, INc., Fergus Falls, Minnesota, be awarded the contract for electrica~ in the amount o.f' $64,518.00; . and Moorheacl Pl_bg. & Heati_ng, Moorhead, Minnesota be awarded the ~oritract for mechanical,_ in the amount of· $136,880.00, plus unit price'-of. H45.00 each; ·all· ·b°ids . including alternates and lowest bid in each catagory. _ . Motion was made by Richard Dillon, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to approve the plat of 2nd Addition to Walls River Lots in Section 36 of Maine Township.
