Home My WebLink AboutBoard of Commissioners - Minutes - 02/24/1971MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF TI-IE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OTIER TAIL COUNTY MINNESOTA Pursuant to call, the Bpard of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County met Wednesday, February 24, 1971,at 9:30 A.M., all members being present. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, to accept the funds of the Otter Tail County Planning Ad- visory Commission as turned over by Walter Sundberg, the outgoing Secretary- Treasurer of the Otter Tail Cowity Planning Advisory Commission. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, to approve the bond of Colleen Joyce Knudson, Deputy Clerk of District Court in an amount of $1,000 with the Integrity Mutual Insurance Company. A letter from F. W. Rehm concerning lake shore development on Pickerel Lake. Motion was made by Richard Dillon, seconded by Andy Leitch and unanimously carried to refer said letter to the Otter Tail County Planning Ad- visory Commission. Motion was made by Andy Leitch, seconded by Hubert Nordgren and unanimously carried, to accept the proposal of Hintgen-Karst Electric of Fergus Falls for electrical work in the Register of Deeds office. Motion was made by George Walters, seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, to accept the proposal of Carroll Skow for painting the Register of Deeds and County Auditor's offices. Motion was made by George Walter, seconded by Richard Dillon and unanimously carried, to accept the bid of Anderson Bros. in the amount of $632.00 for the installation of accoustical tile ceiling in the Register of Deeds vauit:• 72 ---- - Upon motion made by Andy Leitch, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Otter Tail County Minnesota, that WHEREAS the Board, on October 12th, 1970, entered into contract with Reuben Klein Motor Sales, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, for the purchase of a 1971 Plymouth 4-Door automobile for use by the Sheriff's Department, same having been delivered to the satisfaction of the Board, NOW, THEREFORE, The County Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant in the amount of $2,167, to the Reuben Klein Motor Company, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, being the full purchase price. NOW TIIEREFORE, be it hereby resolved the Board of County Commission- ers of Otter Tail County Minnesota does grant said application, and that per- mission to do so will be to the best public interest and rel~e undue hardship. After considerable discussion it was decided to maintain $150 .00 deductible collis:.i;c;,:n coverage on the four cars being used for patrolling. Motion was made by-Richard.Dillon, seconded by George Walter and unanimously carried, to accept the bid of Fergus Glass & Paint Company, Fergus Falls for vertical blinds for the Auditor's office, Commissioners' Room and the Register of Deeds Office. Motion was made by Hubert Nordgren, seconded __ by Richar_d Dillon and unanimously carried, to approve the estimateof Orlyn Pederson Company, for the construction of the telephone center in the center of the groun.d_ floor of the Court House. A petition signed by property owners along County Ditch #29 requesting the abandonment of said ditch, was read and it was ordered a heari_ng be held on the matter at 2:00 o'clock P.M., Wednesday, April 14th, 1971.
